ROCHESTER, NY – A violent incident occurred early Sunday morning at Martin Luther King Jr. Park. of downtown Rochester, where several people were shot.

Initial reports confirm that at least five people were injured and taken to hospital, with some victims requiring surgery. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported at this time, although the crime scene remains active with a significant police presence.

Officers from multiple agencies, including New York State Troopers, arrived at the scene around 2:40 a.m. ET. Law enforcement has since shut down a large portion of downtown Rochester to conduct their investigation.
Witnesses say a large group had gathered at MLK Park for a party, with gunfire erupting some time after their arrival.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and say more details will be released as they become available.
