Fetterman returns shocked when he calls out white genocide in South Africa

-

US Sen. John Fetterman continues to surprise as it becomes increasingly clear that he is not the progressive lawmaker that many of his supporters thought he was when they voted for him.

The hulking Pennsylvania Democrat has already admitted he's on the “right side” of some issues Democrats may prefer he isn't, but his support for Israel after the October Hamas attack and on other issues hot have become. things on his mind

In a short video clip on social media, Fetterman called out South Africa in comments he was making about genocide.

Although it's not clear from the clip released what the length of the speech was, the senator's demand that South Africa “feel out” won a standing ovation from his audience and even received a nod from Elon Musk to X.

Fetterman may have been referring to the nation accusing Israel of genocide while calling on the United Nations to order a halt to Israel's military actions against Hamas.

The Associated Press reported Thursday:

During opening statements at the International Court of Justice, South African lawyers said the latest war in Gaza is part of decades of Israeli oppression of Palestinians.

The court “takes advantage of the past 13 weeks of evidence that incontrovertibly shows a pattern of conduct and related intent” that amounts to “a plausible claim of genocidal acts,” South African lawyer Adila Hassim told the judges and to the audience in a packed room. from the Peace Palace in The Hague.

The country's leaders were torn apart by Israel's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

“This is a world turned upside down: the state of Israel is accused of genocide while fighting genocide,” he said in a video statement. “South Africa's hypocrisy screams to heaven.”

Fetterman's heated remarks about South Africa come after the Democrat has taken an outspoken and vocal stance on a number of issues recently, much to the chagrin of his colleagues.

In addition to voicing his support for Israel, he has pushed for embattled Sen. Bob Menendez to be removed from office and denounced broken borders and immigration policies under President Joe Biden's administration.

His latest comment about South Africa caught the attention of social media users who chimed in with some interesting reactions of their own.
