Former White House physician Ronny Johnson blasted FBI Director Christopher Wray on Friday for blatantly lying about the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
In a letter addressed to “concerned citizens of the United States,” he first provided an update on Trump's health and then proceeded to criticize Wray for what he had said while testifying in Congress days before.
“During the congressional hearing two days ago, FBI Director Christopher Wray suggested it could be a bullet, shrapnel or glass. [that had hit Trump],” he wrote. “There is absolutely no evidence that it was anything other than a bullet.”
“Congress should correct the record as both the hospital and I confirm. Director Wray is wrong and inappropriate to suggest anything else,” he added.

After the letter was released, the FBI issued a statement clarifying Wray's statements to Congress.
“What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, whole or fragmented into smaller pieces, fired from the deceased subject's rifle,” the FBI said.
But critics were unimpressed with this attempt to backtrack:
It's still not good enough. There is 0 evidence that the bullet fragmented. https://t.co/8FruCpXXgr

What Wray said is why average Americans distrust and despise the FBI and our government in general. They hate Trump and will do anything to diminish him and his supporters.

Director Wray should resign for lying to the American public about this. It's embarrassing that he's doing this during a hearing where he claimed he was trying to reassure the public that the FBI would investigate this transparently and honestly.

The rest of Jackson's letter concerns Trump's current health.
“I have reviewed President Trump's medical records from Butler Memorial Hospital, where he was initially evaluated and treated by a”Gunshot wound to the right ear,'” he wrote.
“Having served as an emergency medicine physician for over 20 years in the United States Navy, including as a combat medic on the battlefield in Iraq, I have treated many gunshot wounds during my career Based on my direct observations of the injury, my relevant clinical history, and my significant experience evaluating and treating patients with similar injuries, I fully agree with the initial assessment and treatment provided by the physicians and nurses. of Butler Memorial Hospital on the day of the shooting,” he added.
He concluded the letter by assuring the American people that Trump is fine.
“I want to assure the American people and the rest of the world that President Trump is doing very well,” he wrote. “He is recovering rapidly from the gunshot wound to his right ear. I will remain available to assist President Trump and his personal physician in any way they see fit and will provide updates as needed and with President Trump's permission.”
The release of the letter came a day after Jackson first slammed Wray during an appearance on Fox Business Network's “Kudlow,” telling host Larry Kudlow that it was “absolutely ridiculous” for Wray to suggest that Trump not he was hit by a bullet.
“This degrades any level of credibility this man may have had, after years of arming the FBI and the DOJ against the president,” he said. “It was absolutely a bullet. I examined it. There was a bullet track.”
“Right now we have no confidence in the number one law enforcement agency in this country. What if [Wray’s] he's going to make statements like that, he better have some proof of what he's talking about. There was no broken glass on the teleprompters or anything else,” he added.
In a statement to Fox News, the FBI tried to defend itself by saying that its priority in recent weeks has been to learn more about the possible killer, Thomas Matthew Crooks.
“Since the day of the attack, the FBI has been consistent and clear that the shooting was an attempted assassination of former President Trump that resulted in his injury as well as the death of a heroic father and the injuries to several other victims.” a spokesman said.
“FBI Director Wray provided extensive testimony to Congress on Wednesday about the FBI's investigation. This was a heinous attack, and the FBI is devoting enormous resources to learning everything we can about the shooter and what happened provoke their act of violence,” they added.
