Dave Chappelle sparked a walkout during a show in Boston after criticizing Israel’s bombing of Gaza and accusing the US of aiding in the killing of civilians, he has reported. The Wall Street Journal, citing the people attending.
Chappelle’s “cell phone-free” performance was at the TD Garden Arena in downtown Boston on Thursday evening, according to Ticketmaster website.
The people said Chappelle criticized Hamas for the Oct. 7 attack, but also denounced the Israeli government’s bombing of Gaza, as well as U.S. support for the war effort.

The comments came as Chappelle said he did not think students should lose job offers for supporting the Palestinians. An order from the audience for the comedian to be silent elicited an emotional response from Chappelle, who criticized the Israeli government to cut off water and other essentials in Gaza and accused it killing innocent peopleaccording to the attendees.
Some audience members applauded Chappelle continued and shouted, “Free Palestine,” while others shouted, “What about Hamas?”, said the attendees. Some of the crowd got up and left. Toward the conclusion of his program, he said of Israeli policies and Hamas attacks that two wrongs don’t make a right, the people said.
If the WSJ reports are correct, this shows how the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has accelerated polarization in the US.
