While the Harris-Walz campaign has repeatedly tried to label her opponents as “weird,” the American Principles Project (APP) told the Daily Caller News Foundation that Vice President Kamala Harris' “radical” record on issues transgender makes her weird.
Harris' Senate voting record, public statements, and actions as vice president, incl congratulating transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney during a year of “living authentically” as a woman and inviting Queer Eye cast members in the White House — reflect an extreme stance on gender issues, APP argued in an analysis of its record shared exclusively with the DCNF. APP President Terry Schilling told the DCNF that the “obsession” with gender identity issues, specifically the children around them, “makes Kamala the weirdest.”
“The obsession with giving children gender transitions — it's not just weird, it's evil,” Schilling said.
The Campaign for Human Rights, which has fought against the state prohibits transgender procedures for minors, endorsed Harris as “a trailblazer” who “has been an advocate for LGBTQ+ equality for decades.”
As a senator from California, Harris co-sponsored the Equality Act, which would include sexual orientation and gender identity as categories of discrimination prohibited by federal civil rights law.
The bill would allow men to compete in women's sports and access women-only spaces such as bathrooms and locker rooms. Parents' rights advocates have warned the bill could open the door to allowing children to make gender transitions over their parents' objections, as some schools policies you already do
“These are kids,” Schilling said. “They need training. They need adults, both at home and in their family, in their schools and in their government, to protect them from these bright, shiny objects that a lot of bad people put in front of them.”
Our LGBTQI+ children should not be afraid of who they are.
No one should be made to fight alone.

Like President Joe BidenHarris has criticized Florida's efforts to protect minors from sexually explicit material in schools, calling out parents' rights to education in the state. Bill — Known as the “Don't Say Gay” bill by opponents, a law passed by “extremists.” The law prevents the teaching of gender identity and sexual orientation in classrooms for children up to third grade.
“I have to tell you, many of you may know, in 2004, on Valentine's weekend, I was one of the first elected officials in the country to perform same-sex marriages,” Harris. he said in July at the 2024 American Federation of Teachers National Convention. “So here's the thing: It makes me very sad to think 20 years later that there are some young teachers in their 20s who are afraid to put a picture of themselves and their partner for fear of losing their job. And what is your job? The most noble job, teaching other people's children”.
As California's attorney general, Harris also worked “behind the scenes.” to pave the path to a policy that allows inmates to get gender transition surgeries, albeit sooner archived filings defending a state agency's decision to deny surgeries.
“Toward the end of his tenure as attorney general, he worked behind the scenes to establish a policy on granting gender-affirming surgeries to people who are currently incarcerated, the first of its kind in the country,” said a spokesperson for his campaign. he said the Los Angeles Blade in 2019.

In 2022, Harris and her husband, Douglas Emhoffhe joined Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Rachel Levine welcoming children who identified as transgender in the White House.
“Care for gender affirmation is the medical standard and allows these children to be themselves and live normal lives,” Levine. he wrote to X. “To all trans kids: we see you and we support you.”
Levine, who identifies as transgender, lobbied the World Association of Professionals for Transgender Health (WPATH) to remove age limits from its Standards of Care Version 8 (SOC-8) guidelines. seconds to unsealed court documents. Finally, WPATH removed the limits of procedures such as hormones and cross-sex surgeries when it published the guidelines in September 2022.
Schilling said a Harris administration would put “Rachel Levine types” in every agency, including the Department of Justice (DOJ), which he said has already “armed itself against parents to show up for meetings of the school board where kids were being raped by trans-identified people in the school bathrooms.”
“They're going to be in Homeland Security, they're going to be in the Department of Education, they're going to be everywhere,” he said. “They will be establishing policies that we will all have to live with and endure.”
The Biden-Harris administration has fought state bans on transgender procedures for minors in court, including in a case challenging Tennessee law now at Supreme Court. The administration cited the WPATH guidelines in its filings, though unsealed documents revealed that WPATH suppressed, or chose not to seek, publication of evidence reviews that undermined its recommendations.
In addition, a duration of four years review of transgender medical studies commissioned by the National Health Service (NHS) England and published in April found “weak” evidence for giving puberty blockers to minors. The report, by Dr Hilary Cass, also found “no clear evidence that social transition in childhood has positive or negative outcomes on mental health”.
Schilling asked if Harris knew or had read the Cass report.
“If you want to push gender changes to kids, you should be reading it everywhere you can,” Schilling said. “Do you understand that the Cass Report has serious problems with the recommendations coming out of the transgender industry?”
The White House he said in early July that he supports “care for gender-affirming minors” but believes “surgeries should be limited to adults.” seconds to a statement informed by the lawyer. The White House clarified days later that it would still “vigorously fight categorical bans on gender affirmation in the courts”, while reiterating that the surgeries should be “reserved for adults”.
Harris' pick for vice president, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, has a history of supporting child gender reassignment procedures in his state.
The Walz administration allowed minors to receive state-funded genital surgeries last year when it removed age restrictions on most transgender procedures under the state's insurance policy, formerly the DCNF. informed. Also, Waltz signed a “trans sanctuary” law that protects children traveling to Minnesota for transgender procedures, giving state courts “temporary emergency jurisdiction” when a child “has been unable to obtain gender-affirming health care.”
“Kamala Harris is going to pour gasoline on the fire and make it bigger,” Schilling said. “We have to put out this fire. Our children are our future.”
