Apologizing for semantics, the former president accused a “RINO” Fox News host of falling into the “proverbial 'Trump' trap” after fact-checking.
Simply laying down the rules wasn't enough for former President Donald Trump, who again attacked Fox News. Despite airtime that included a town hall against the latest GOP primary debate that he chose not to attend, he took aim at “Fox & Friends” co-host Steve Doocy after a claim in the primary of New Hampshire appeared to be misleading.
“Invisible RINO Steve Doocy of Fox & Friends, who is suffering badly from the lack of interest and declining ratings, with Steve as the main factor, just said I was wrong about Democrats being able to vote to the New Hampshire Republican. Primary,” Trump told Truth Social.
“He was so eager to go against me, that he fell into the proverbial 'Trump' trap, as everyone else does,” the president continued. “Democrats can actually vote, they had to register by Oct. 6, but they can come in as independents, and then they can be Democrats, and nobody will know, so we've already got 3,542 Democrats changed to undeclared , 408 to Republicans”. all will vote), and others will enter as liberals or independents”.
“Their reason is they're desperate to stop 'Trump' because they don't want to run against me, they want to run against Nikki or Ron or anybody else,” Trump added. “If an independent is a Democrat, he can vote. This is what they want to do, fill the list of Democrats!”.
During Friday's broadcast of “Fox & Friends,” Doocy had made some comments from the president that were not as clear as the social media post.
“Donald Trump said New Hampshire law allows Democrats to vote in the Republican primary. That's not true. You have to be a registered Republican unless you're declared. Last day for a Democrat to change party affiliation it was in October; October 6. So that's not accurate,” he said as he joined the couch curled up by Lawrence Jones, Ainsley Earhardt and Brian Kilmeade.

Doocy's clarification had been in response to repeated claims by the GOP candidate in the Granite State and his network that suggested otherwise.
Appearing on “Hannity” the night before, Trump said, “Independents and Democrats can vote, so to try to stop Trump, they go out and register and they can register very easily.”
Earlier, during a campaign speech in New Hampshire, the president had said: “As you know, Nikki Haley in particular is counting on Democrats and liberals to infiltrate your Republican primary. You know, that's what's going on. There's a group of people coming in that aren't Republicans.”
New Hampshire Secretary of State David Scanlan (R) also clarified the state's rules in a statement to CNN, saying, “Registered Democrats cannot vote in the Republican primary and registered Republicans cannot vote in the Democratic primaries… We've been pretty clear about the process.”
Trump's continued distaste for Doocy played out in additional comments on Truth Social.
“…So Steve, I know you don't think people cheat in elections, but they do! However, I have an idea how we can solve the problem with Steve,” Trump wrote, “Change the hosts of the weekend with the guests of the week, and everyone will be happy, except to keep Lawrence, who is constantly defending me while reporting to the studio – 'I know what you're saying, but it's not what I see in the field, everything what I see are red hats and Trumps!!!' Anyway, it is [New Hampshire Gov.] Chris Sununu's fault. He could have changed that, but he was too lazy to do it!”
