You can tell a lot about the relative health of a nation by what it exports and what it imports. You can also take a snapshot of history that can tell a story through the ins and outs of a nation. For example, in 1950, the main exports of the United States were automobiles, industrial machinery, and manufactured iron and steel, along with grain and petroleum. America in the 1950s imported fine men's clothing from Britain, women's fashion from France, and wine and food from Italy. It was the era of a strong America.
And the US then exported more than what was on the balance sheet. America was the vision of democratic principles and constitutional governance, of mutually respectful political parties, of judicial integrity, of law and order, of fair and free economic markets, and of a free media, all of which it created a unique internal political stability. that the world looked at with admiration and longing.
As nations around the world imported the ideas of our Constitution and our legal and economic structures, they prospered and were politically stable. The United States was the measure by which other nations judged their liberties. The US, in turn, benefited from the import of world peace and stability that resulted from the export of this constitutional strength. That was the picture of the world then.
But nothing stays the same, right? The the philosopher Heraclitus he said first, you can never step twice in the same river. Our reality is always getting better or worse. What can we distinguish from current imports and exports? Let's take a photo.
One of our biggest imports today is illegal aliens, 13 to 15 million in the last three years, some of whom are gangs exiled from Venezuelan prisons, some of whom are Chinese spies of military age, some of whom are slaves imported to serve. in the sex trade. One of our others the biggest import is fentanyl, a drug that has killed more than 100,000 Americans a year for the past three years. That's 300,000 young men or six times the number of American soldiers who died in Vietnam. Over the past year, enough fentanyl has crossed our border to kill every living citizen of the United States.
But there are other notable imports that the practice of leaving our border and the law unleashes on the streets of our “sanctuary” states and cities. – there is chaos, there is bloodshed and there is death. It is a lawlessness that is systematic and a system that is protected by the inaction demanded by one party of our government, the Democrats. Last week, this systematic disregard led to the death of a young college student, Laken Hope Riley, at the hands of a Venezuelan criminal abandoned by Democratic party politics.
On the other side of the ledger, one of our biggest exports today is the billions of dollars sent to the Mexican drug cartels, who import their corruption into the government of our nearest neighbor, Mexico, and they are again creating lawlessness throughout this beleaguered country. .
How our shining beacon, our once bright vision of the world, has been eclipsed.
When the world now looks to the United States for a measure of freedom, what picture does it see?
He sees a “Democrat” party that does not enforce the laws of the land. He sees a Democratic Party sponsoring and creating economic socialism, something that is anathema to free and fair markets. The world sees a Democratic Party that has corrupted law enforcement agencies and the judiciary to defeat its political opponents. He sees a Democratic Party that protects those who break the law, and stands by while citizens die. He sees an American media so corrupt that it is no longer an independent institution but has become a monolithic propaganda engine. The world is watching a Democratic party in America tear down the foundations of our Constitution and the foundations of our society. The world sees a Democratic Party in America that seems imported from Nicolas Maduro's Venezuela.
It was said of the Roman tyrant Nero who forged his infamous name in the fires of a burning Rome. The world is witnessing one of our own political parties forge its name in the infamy of an America in flames.
And what about the world? Where is any nation in the world headed to see the peace, stability and prosperity of a nation built on constitutional and democratic principles? The world can no longer look to America for this shining example. It is no longer an American product.
Only when the Democrats are kicked out of power will this product, and this example, reappear.
