Former President Donald Trump joked that it would be “much safer” to take refuge in Venezuela if he loses the November election.
Speaking with billionaire X owner Elon Musk in a two-hour interview, the Republican presidential candidate again pointed out how Venezuela has been “emptying” its prisons by sending criminals illegally to the United States.
“If something happens with this election, which would be a horror show, we will meet next time in Venezuela, because it will be a much safer place to meet than our country,” he said.

“Okay, so we'll go. You and I will go, and we'll have a meeting and a dinner in Venezuela,” Trump told Musk.
“Venezuela: Their crime is down 72 percent,” Trump said, adding that violent criminals are being released from prisons in the South American nation.
“Venezuela has not gotten rid of everyone. They've gotten rid of about 70 percent of their very bad people,” he continued. “Their prisons are about 50 percent, put in the United States. The same with other countries, more than 30 percent. Some are at 50 percent. They are all different.”
“But the bottom line is they're all going to be 100 percent. Why wouldn't you put in 100 percent?” Trump asked. “Their crime rate is going down and our crime rate is going through the roof. And it's that simple.”
“You haven't seen anything yet because these people have come into our country and they're acclimating and they don't know if they're politically correct, law enforcement or the lack of law enforcement and our police,” he continued trump
The former president talked about New York City, where he lived before moving to Florida, and told Musk how the so-called sanctuary city was “overwhelmed” with illegal migrants he intended to welcome with open arms .
“I saw it today in New York where someone was stabbed, where they raped a man's girlfriend who was standing there looking at New York in one of the shelters and started pulling out knives,” he said.
The comment likely referred to reports of a knife attack at the Randall's Island migrant shelter and a suspected migrant who raped a 46-year-old woman at knifepoint on Sunday along the Coney Island boardwalk. Another illegal migrant fought the victim's 34-year-old boyfriend.
“The unprovoked attack took place outside a hotel that houses asylum seekers at around 9pm on Sunday and has since led to the rumored arrest of Nicaraguan migrant David Davon-Bonilla , 24 years old, and the Mexican Leovando Moreno, 37 years old”. Daily Mail informed
“Bad things happen today, but that happens every day,” Trump told Musk while discussing the violence in the Big Apple. “We are already overwhelmed. Elon, we are overwhelmed.
“You should have seen the news tonight about New York – New York, and I love this place, and what they're doing there is horrible. What they're doing there, and all the courts are doing is trying to focus on Trump,” he said.
The GOP nominee also took a shot at his Democratic rival, recalling how Vice President Kamala Harris was supposed to oversee the immigration issue at America's southern border.
“She was the czar of the border, and people can't allow them to get away with their disinformation campaign,” he said. “Now, she says she wasn't really involved … she was totally in charge.”
“She says she was strong on the border. 'We'll be strong.' Well, she doesn't have to say that [it]; could shut it down right now,” Trump claimed. “They could do things right now. It's horrible.”
