The passenger who was filming and laughing as his friend hit and killed a man riding his bike has been arrested.
The unnamed suspect was arrested Tuesday in Clark County, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, which says they have their man. His identity has not yet been released … he is also a minor, as is his alleged accomplice.
However, DAs said Tuesday that both men are expected to be tried as adults. It was also revealed that a student at a local school showed the shocking video to a campus officer, which is how the department first learned about it.
the daughter of Andreas Probst, Taylorspoke about the loss of his father at the news conference … saying his family is “devastated by the senseless killing” that took place last month, saying the death is a direct result of the “values impaired family members of society” and the effects of social media.
Remember these two are what the cops say appear aa now famous video that circulated online … which graphically depicts the killing of 64-year-old Probst, who was simply riding his bike down the street when the two guys in the stolen car chose to hit him.
You can hear them talking about it right before they hit the accelerator: the man driving asks his passenger if he should go get it…and the passenger encourages him to.
Probst flew into the air and was left for dead on the road. The two teenagers in the car can be heard laughing as they drive away.
Keep in mind…just prior to hitting Probst, the two had been involved in a separate road rage incident where they crashed into another car literally moments earlier.
However, authorities now say there was a third incident that went down roughly 30 minutes before all of this … where the two teenagers hit another person with a bicycle, claiming the passenger was the one I was driving this time.
They say the other bicyclist and the alleged road rage victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The video has sparked widespread outrage and condemnation…and since then the Vegas PD he pleaded publicly to help you identify the other type. Now, police say they have both.
It remains to be seen whether the passenger will face charges similar to the driver, who is being prosecuted for hit-and-run and murder.
