“Safer to keep it here”

An Arizona prosecutor refuses to extradite a violent criminal to New York City precisely because of the city's prosecutors who have no criminal record.

The criminal, Raad Almansoori, was arrested this month in Arizona for allegedly stabbing two people, but is also wanted in New York City for killing a sex worker.

But because of the track record of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, often he goes soft on violent criminals — Maricopa County District Attorney Rachel Mitchell refuses to extradite Almansoori.

Appearing this Thursday on Fox News”Fox & Friends,” Mitchell explained why.

Listen:

“I'm putting the victims first and making sure he remains in custody,” he said bluntly. “And again, this is not to slander the NYPD, but … it was just a couple of weeks ago that some of the illegal immigrants that were in New York City that beat up the police officers be let go.”

“They were turning off the camera when they got out of jail, and guess where they ended up? Four of them ended up in Maricopa County and had to be arrested here. I don't want that to happen. I don't want this individual to get out and be able to victimize more people,” he added.

During a news conference Wednesday, Mitchell referred to Bragg by name.

“Having watched the treatment of violent criminals in the New York area by the Manhattan District Attorney there, Alvin Bragg, I think it's safer to keep him here and keep him in custody so he can't go out and do that to people in our state. or county or anywhere in the United States,” he said.

Bragg, a left-wing extremist who has shown more interest in prosecuting former President Donald Trump than going after violent criminals, is not happy with Mitchell.

In a statement to Fox News, her office called her decision “deeply disturbing” and predictably accused her of playing “political games.” Note that Democrats often accuse others of playing “political games” when they don't get their way.

“It is deeply disturbing that Prosecutor Mitchell is playing political games in a murder investigation,” Bragg's representative, Emily Tuttle, said Wednesday.

“New York's murder rate is less than half of Phoenix's because of the hard work of the NYPD. It's a slap in the face to them and the victim in our case to refuse to call for justice and accountability total for the death of a New Yorker,” he added.

Never mind that this has nothing to do with murder rates. It's about holding criminals accountable, which Bragg makes a point of not doing.

As for Almansoori's crimes, they are extensive.

First, he kidnapped and sexually assaulted 26-year-old sex worker Leah Palian in Florida.

“Almansoori stood by her 'rolling eyes' as he allegedly choked her inside her Orlando apartment while reportedly repeating, 'I hate having to do this.' I hate having to kill you'”, he New York Post he reported after interviewing Palian.

He managed to escape, after which Almansoori was arrested and pleaded with prosecutors to keep him behind bars.

“I was begging them,” he told the Post. “I said, 'Please keep this man off the streets.' If you let him go with a slap on the wrist, I guarantee he'll become the next Ted Bundy. He was in such a hurry to do this. If he gets away with it, he's going to pick up that rush and become a serial killer.”

Prosecutors refused to keep him behind bars, so unsurprisingly, he is accused of killing Denisse Oleas-Arancibia, 38, a mother of two from New York who reportedly , was found dead at the SoHo Hotel 54 Watts Street in New York in February. . 8.

According to the Post, he hired her as an escort, but after the two argued, he allegedly strangled and beat her to death with an iron.

Earlier this week, Almansoori was arrested in Phoenix after he allegedly stabbed two women, one of whom he had tried to rape in a McDonald's restroom.

Palian told the Post that, unfortunately, she is not surprised by the additional attacks that occurred after she was assaulted.

“One of the things to note about serial killers is that they have no emotion behind their eyes whenever they're like that. It's like dead eyes, and that's what I had,” he said. “It was like he had no consciousness, no soul behind his eyes.”
