Pro-Trump businessman accuses Dem 'party operatives' of launching 'coup' against Biden

A prominent Silicon Valley Trump supporter is unhappy with the left's concerted effort to unseat President Joe Biden.

In a tweet Friday, Craft Ventures co-founder David Sacks noted that some polls still show Biden winning the race, meaning there's no legitimate reason to replace him with another candidate.

“This is a coup against the president,” he posted.

But Sacks is not a Biden supporter. So why complain? Because like other Trump supporters, Sacks acknowledges that despite a handful of outliers, most polls make it clear that Biden's candidacy gives former President Donald Trump the best chance to take back the White House.

It's the same reason Trump's advisers and allies were ecstatic when President Biden acted decently enough, except for a few gaffes — during his Thursday afternoon press conference.

The better he performs, the more likely he is to stay in the race, and thus the more likely Trump is to win re-election.

The problem is that the effort to oust Biden is gathering steam. Hours before Sacks posted his tweet, Axios published a report revealing that “well-connected Democrats, most of them veterans of the Obama and Clinton administrations, are plotting by the hour to get [Biden] withdraw quickly”.

“They are commissioning polls, lobbying former presidents, channeling Democratic leaders, organizing donors and taking the fight to Biden in a very public way,” Axios reported. “They are the unofficial committee to nullify the election of the president. The mission: to throw Biden out of the presidential race, as soon as possible.”

According to Axios, that network is “growing every day” thanks to polls showing that Democrats would likely do much better against Trump with someone else at the helm.

Sacks' complaints about the “coup” come just over a month after he formally endorsed Trump and held a fundraiser for the former president at his multimillion-dollar home in San Francisco.

“Over the past two years, I have hosted events for presidential candidates Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as well as several congressional figures from both major parties. I give to many, but approve of few,” he tweeted at the time.

“But today I am supporting our 45th president, Donald J. Trump, to be our 47th president. My reasons are based on four main issues that I believe are vital to America's prosperity, security, and stability: issues where the Biden administration has gone wrong and where I believe President Trump can bring back,” he added.

The good news for Sacks is that President Biden made it abundantly clear during a rally in Detroit this Friday that he's not going anywhere.

“You've probably noticed a lot of speculation lately,” he said. “What will Joe Biden do? Will he stay in the race? Will he drop out? I'm running and we'll win. We'll defend our Constitution and save our democracy!”

He then cited a recent Marist poll, a total outlier, showing him leading former President Donald Trump 50 percent to 48 percent.

“The narration [is] that my campaign has collapsed, they say”, he continued. “I am the nominee of the Democratic Party, the only Democrat or Republican who has ever beaten Donald Trump. I will beat him again. I know him. Donald Trump is a loser.”

“I am the candidate of this party because 14 million Democrats like you voted for me in the primaries. You nominated me, no one else. Not the press, not the experts, not the experts, not the donors. You have decided! No one else, and I'm not going anywhere!” he concluded.
