Two New York police officers were attacked in a Bronx subway station on Monday after telling a group of three men to put out their cigarettes.
According to the New York Daily News, the men refused officers’ requests to put out their smokes and head into the street, choosing to fight.
Kaream McClary, Izayiah Jessamy were arrested and charged with assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, violation of local law and trespassing.
The police officers were treated for minor injuries at the scene, the newspaper reports.
Another NYPD officer assaulted in Bronx traffic. Supposedly this happened yesterday. How @NYPDTransit Chief Kemper has repeatedly stated that the increase in assault crimes is primarily against police officers taking enforcement action. The third suspect, seen below, managed to get away.
Even as the Democratic-led city claims crime is down — see lies, damn lies and statistics — Manhattan’s left-leaning District Attorney Alvin Bragg recently said he felt fear when a family member took the underground.
“I know the statistics that traffic crime is down, but when one of my family members gets on the train, it makes me sick to my stomach, too,” he told FOX5 News. “I live here, I raise my family here, so we have a lot more work to do.”
This wasn’t the only incident where an NYPD officer was attacked in a Bronx subway station this week.
A uniformed NYPD lieutenant was responding to a knife fight at a Bronx subway station when he was slashed with a box cutter and suffered injuries that required eight stitches in his swollen left eye, according to ABC & New York.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen in X:
Everyone in the anti-police crowd missed the part where the criminal doesn’t cooperate, turns violent and puts the cop’s life at risk just to try to do his job.

Crime officials have encouraged criminals to behave like this and assault police officers.

There are too many angry thugs in America.

But unfortunately, somehow, the NYPD is being used to prevent protesters who are American citizens from protesting against illegal aliens. We seem to have a priority disconnect in city leadership to a large extent @NYCMayor
