The latest reminder that the public doesn't “hate the media enough” came courtesy of the there is hardly any coverage of former President Donald Trump's death as resembling a “mostly peaceful assassination attempt.”
President Joe Biden wasn't the only one opposed to describing Saturday's tragedy in Butler, Pennsylvania, as it came after a suspect killed at least one attendee and wounded two others in the process of shooting the GOP leader . With a shamelessness that rivaled referring to the fiery riots as “mostly peaceful,” headlines and headlines watered down what happened, if they even covered it.
In an Associated Press editorial that included a picture of a bloodied Trump being led to safety by US Secret Service agents, the caption read: “During: Donald Trump has been escorted off the stage by Secret Service during a demonstration after loud noises ring out from the crowd.”

Meanwhile, a CNN headline making the rounds claimed, “Secret Service pulls Trump off stage after he collapses at rally.”
The “Unfckinreal” banner outraged many, including Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who shared a screenshot of the report and wrote: “Even in a horrible time like this, they can't help themselves” .

That was also true for USA Today with a headline shared by the lawmaker that read, “Trump removed from stage by Secret Service after loud noises scare ex-president, crowd.”
For its part, ABC News acknowledged that there was a shooter and that a rally attendee had been killed, but wouldn't go so far as to include specific points the GOP leader confirmed as they wrote, “Trump says he will be shot in a rally in a possible assassination attempt…”

If that wasn't bad enough, the same stations that had been drooling over the prospect of interrupting coverage to report on the former commander-in-chief's felony conviction were said to have prioritized their regular programming, as numerous figures detailed their experiences in public.
Dr. Simone Gold, president of America's Frontline Doctors, posted from a location in New York City: “I'm in the middle of Times Square and I just got the news that President Donald Trump has been shot and I'm completely surprised. I heard he looks fine, but look behind me.”
“Not a single report on the news about the president being shot,” he expressed as he showed the monitors inside as well as the giant screens in the heart of Manhattan keeping their typical screens. “None of them are reporting that the president — presidential candidate of the Republican Party — has been shot. Not a word.”

“If anyone has any doubts about the depth of censorship and propaganda we're living in the 21st century… 2024, don't be,” he added as lawyer Marina Medvin documented a similar experience outside the capital of country
“We're in a bar right now – a suburb of DC. It's almost an hour after Trump was targeted at his rally and rushed out bleeding,” he detailed. “Not one of the 6 televisions that play sports matches live has interrupted the coverage or mentioned the news. No one here but us knows [happened]…WTF.”
Medvin followed up Sunday morning with a headline in The New York Times that read, “TRUMP HURT, BUT SAFE, AFTER A PUSH,” commenting as reactions poured in, “A day later and they're still at it.” .
