Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said Monday that Vice President Kamala Harris has an instinct to support far-left policies despite trying to paint herself as a moderate.
Harris said he would not take advice from pollsters and follow his own instincts about the most effective way to campaign, CNN informed. McEnany asked Fox News' “America's Newsroom” whether Harris' attempts to recast herself as a moderate candidate will be effective ahead of the 2024 election.
“We've seen little hints of what his instincts are. Going over the top [Democratic Pennsylvania Gov.] Josh Shapiro, price control economic plan, which has been widely seen as a bad idea,” McEnany said. “His instincts are progressive, but he's trying to protect it with a moderate venire, will it work?”

Harris promised to enact a federal ban on “price gouging” by food and grocery companies at a rally Friday in Raleigh, North Carolina. McEnany said Harris and his supporters will make unspecified campaign promises during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) this week, as the public did not respond kindly to his “price gouging” plan.
“I remember Mario Cuomo saying that you campaign in poetry and govern in prose. Well, get ready to overdose on poetry this week. That didn't go well, so you'll see poetry, broad strokes, cost-cutting paintings without much detail or footnote on how to do it. It will be grand, but it will be wide. And that's where the debate is so important for Trump to clarify the details,” McEnany said.

The press secretary of the White House, Karine Jean-Pierre he said Harris weighed in on Biden's economic policies, which he argued helped the American people during a news conference Wednesday.
“What I will tell you is that Bidenomics has been something that both the president and the vice president have worked on,” Jean-Pierre said. “You've called it 'Bidenomics,' we're talking about how the president is trying to build a bottom-up, outward economic policy that doesn't leave the middle class behind and makes sure it's fair to the center.”
Inflation went from 1.4% when Biden took office in January 2021 aa summit of 9% in June 2022, making it a politically devastating issue for a Biden presidency. The Consumer Price Index (CPI), which measures the price of everyday goods, fell down below 3% in July for the first time in two years.
