Hamas, a designated terrorist organization, invaded the region on October 7, unleashing a wave of violence that has left more than 1,400 Israelis dead and more than 220 taken hostage.

However, the stark truth is that economic incentives have failed to change the genocidal nature of Hamas. Aid intended for civilian infrastructure has been systematically stolen and diverted by Hamas leaders to finance their terrorist activities, including the construction of tunnels and rocket manufacturing facilities.
These terrorist infrastructures are strategically located in and under hospitals, schools, mosques and residential buildings, using Gazan civilians as human shields. While Israel strives to minimize civilian casualties during military operations, Hamas blatantly aims to maximize them, exploiting the situation for propaganda purposes.
It is disheartening to recognize that the people of Gaza, who initially voted for Hamas, continue to support their atrocities. In addition, Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism, provides significant financial support to Hamas, enabling its terrorist budget and operations.
The false comparisons being made between Israel, a law-abiding democracy, and Hamas, a designated terrorist group, are deeply troubling and play into the terrorists’ strategy. Hamas’s heinous plan involves not only massacring Israelis, but also manipulating public opinion and international bodies to limit Israel’s ability to defend itself.
If Israel’s hands are tied in its fight against Hamas, terrorist organizations around the world will be encouraged to attack civilized states. This battle extends beyond Israel; it is a struggle between the forces of civilization and the forces of evil. For the sake of our collective future and our way of life, we must ensure that civilization prevails.
