Bill Maher gives reality check to harpies on 'The View': Behar admits she's 'afraid' to criticize Biden

Liberal comedian Bill Maher schooled the women of “The View” in an appearance full of reality checks.

The host of HBO's “Real Time” went head-to-head with the ABC show's divas in brutal portrayals of the Democratic Party and President Joe Biden, at one point telling Joy Behar that her “credibility” is on the line. game by refusing to criticize the commander in chief. when justified.

“So if they have to be destroyed, how do we do it? It's a war. I don't know how to do it, and you don't know how to do it,” Maher said.

When pressed again about the lives lost, Maher replied: “That's what happens in a war. Here's a way to stop it, to stop attacking Israel,” earning applause from the audience.

Hostin had previously challenged Maher over his use of the term “woke”, expressing surprise to hear him say it and claiming that the political right had gunned him down.

“Words migrate, now I'll use whatever term you want because maybe that's a word that's triggering, so let's not use that word,” Maher said. “You want to call it the super far left?”

When he said he would describe himself as an “old-school liberal,” Hostin replied, “You've changed, though.”

But Maher wasn't afraid of challenges from the women at the table, warning them about their hyper-partisan support for anything Biden does.

“I'm nervous about saying anything against Biden because I feel like, not that I have that much power, and you have more power than me, obviously, but you're afraid that you can, you know, influence the people that you're in the fence?” Behar asked him.

“I think you lose all credibility,” Maher told Behar. “I do. My bond with my audience has always been that I don't pull any punches. My bond with my audience is that you're not going to like everything I say, but you know I'm saying what I really think true”.

He highlighted Biden's re-election chances and his age issues.

“I saw him give that speech yesterday,” Maher said. “I mean, sorry, it's corpse-like.”

Behar pushed back, insisting “but his brain is good, it's still great.”

“When I came back from the strike in September I said I had to get out,” Maher said. “Because he has just lost the faith of the people. It is not fair. At one point, the comedian and TV host took issue with Behar's claim that supporters of former President Donald Trump “could put a swastika” on their MAGA hats.

“I will never defend Donald Trump, but I would never say we should put the swastika on the cap because I think you can hate Donald Trump, you can't hate everybody who likes him. He's half the country,” Maher said. “I don't want to live in this country, I don't want to live in the country where I hate half the country, and I don't hate half the country.”
