California Gov. Gavin Newsom's unabashed praise of President Joe Biden earned him mockery from podcast host Joe Rogan, who called the Democrat an actor acting like a “crazy person.”
Speaking with Manhattan Institute senior fellow Christopher Rufo, the host of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast drew attention to a recent Newsom interview on MSNBC in which he touted Biden's leadership and character.
“When you just look at how he praised Biden,” I would never face him, a man of character! You know, like, “I'm old school,” Rogan said, mocking Newsom's words.
“God! It's like playing someone in a movie who's crazy,” he observed.
Joe Rogan: Gavin Newsom is a very good actor, playing a crazy person who is insincere enough that for a very dull, blue mind, no matter what, people would believe everything he says. pic.twitter.com/JKxZ7GNZ0V

“That's how a really good actor would play a crazy person, who's insincere enough for smart people to recognize it, but who's, like, very dull-minded, blue, no matter who the people are, “It's a winner.' this guy has my vote, I'll tell you what he can win, he can win this for us,” Rogan continued.
MSNBC's Alex Wagner asked Newsom about running for president and saving Democrats from Biden as a candidate. But the governor rejected the idea, praising Biden's “record of accomplishments” and calling him “a man of character, a man of decency.”
“I'm old school,” Newsom said at the time. “Talk about loyalty, I'll go to the ends of the earth for this guy, I really would. I'm not making this up.”

“The thing is, this isn't wrong,” Rufo told Rogan.
“I mean, Gavin Newsom is a fearsome political talent, and his willingness to do or say anything and do it with a straight face, with that straight voice and that cool, creepy hair,” he added.
“I love that he's still receiving it, too,” Rogan noted, recalling the time Newsom “was busted during the pandemic eating inside without a mask.”
“The shame of this guy, he's like a lab specimen, he's an interesting guy and a fascinating person in that way,” Rufo said.
“I'm not a fan, I don't agree with him politically, but I don't think he should be underestimated, because those of us who can see it, I think we're actually a pretty small number of people,” he said. .
Newsom again sang Biden's praises in a “Meet the Press” appearance last month, declaring that he is “absolutely all in” for another term for the 81-year-old president.
“Here's my point: It's because of his age that he's been so successful,” the Democrat claimed, mockingly.

Newsom called Biden's presidency a “master class” and added that “the opportunity to express that for four more years, what a gift it is to the American people. And as a Democrat, what a gift it is to to me to present the case of the leader of our party, Joe Biden.”
