A Democratic political commentator seemed to let the cat out of the bag about how the mainstream media essentially works for the Democratic Party.

Kaivan Shroff, whose X account describes him as a “nonprofit advisor and advocate” as well as a 2024 DNC delegate, was speaking to ABC News in a clip shared by the campaign's War Room account Trump on Monday as did the Democratic National. The convention begins in Chicago.

Shroff addressed the economic agenda presented by Vice President Kamala Harris last week, which drew criticism from both sides of the aisle. From plans to expand the child tax credit, give first-time homebuyers a $25,000 down payment and ban grocery markup, Harris launched his policy proposals in Carolina from the North last week.

The Washington Post's editorial board and economic experts such as Jason Furman, a former Obama administration adviser, criticized the vice president's touted plans.

But Shroff celebrated Harris for sharing details that will “fall apart” because reporters can obviously step in to do the rest of the work.

“I actually think Vice President Harris has been incredibly brave to roll out an ambitious economic agenda because we all know how that works,” she shared on ABC News Live while saying the quiet part out loud.

“The more details you share, the more your policies will come apart, but she's saying, 'I trust the American people, I trust journalists to explain these policies and our values to the people,'” he added.

“And I think when that happens, it's going to be successful for the Democrats,” Shroff predicted, noting, “These are very pro-working, pro-middle-class policies that people have been waiting for.”

As Harris has been stealing policy ideas from his rival, former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee will announce his plans “to free up American energy and lower costs for American families,” according to a statement of the campaign press.

Social media users reacted to Schroff's comments about X, and in response to criticism of his comments, he stated in another post: “To be very clear, I am not a surrogate for Harris and my views are mine”.
