Episode 2507: Combating The Weaponization Of The FBI Committee Day 1

Yates testified that she had advised President Trump that firing Comey would be a mistake and that she had a “duty” to warn the president about the potential consequences of his action. Rosenstein testified that he had drafted a memo to the president outlining his reasons for recommending Comey’s dismissal.

The hearing was the first in a series of hearings to be held by the House Judiciary Committee as part of its investigation into the FBI’s use of surveillance and other tactics to target political opponents of the Trump administration. The committee is expected to hold additional hearings in the coming weeks.
