Elon Musk says he will release about $45 million a month to the pro-Trump super PAC

Billionaire Elon Musk said he plans to pledge about $45 million a month to a super political action committee (PAC) that will help elect former President Donald Trump to office this November.

Sources familiar with the subject he said The Wall Street Journal on the billionaire's plans to increase his support for the American PAC, the outlet reported. Other figures also involved in supporting the group include Palantir Technologies co-founder Joe Lonsdale, cryptocurrency billionaires Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, former US ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft and her husband, Alliance chief executive Resource Partners, Joe Craft.

Reports of Musk's donation to the American PAC were released On Friday, with sources familiar with the matter telling Bloomberg that Musk had made a “significant” donation.

After the failed assassination attempt on Trump on Saturday at his rally in Pennsylvania, Musk announced his full support for the former president in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“I fully support President Trump and look forward to his speedy recovery,” Musk wrote.

The former president has been steadily winning the support of Silicon Valley elites in recent months as more have come forward to support him. In addition to Musk on Saturday, billionaire hedge fund manager and longtime Democratic donor Bill Ackman endorsed Trump, writing in a post on X about his “posts in support of Trump” and “criticism” of President Joe Biden.

“Of course, you don't need to worry about my opinion, so feel free not to read my post when it comes out. That said, I think the upcoming presidential election is one of the most consequential elections of my life, so I am taking adequate time to articulate observations that I will share widely and for which I take significant responsibility,” Ackman wrote.

Others such as venture capitalists David Sacks and Chamath Palihapitiya launched a fundraising for the former president in early June and raised a total of $12 million from some donors who had never given to Republicans or Trump before the event.

Elon Musk, America PAC and the Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
