The GOP's ability to wrest defeat from the jaws of victory outraged allies as a slew of senators marked themselves absent in a “critical vote.”
In March of this year, U.S. District Judge Nancy Maldonado of the Northern District of Illinois demonstrated her radical bona fide as she earned a name as an “incompetent judge” during the Senate hearing on her nomination to the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
On Monday, eight Republicans walked off the field and let the left score a touchdown with a lifetime appointment when West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin (D) and Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I) would have easily canceled the 47 Democrats if the GOP had. perfect assistance
Instead, Maldonado, who had been embarrassed when pressed about the definition of “assault weapons” after previously signing a letter calling for them to be abolished, responded “I'm not a gun expert”, won a promotion by a vote of 47-43.
Judicial Network President Carrie Severino was among those who singled out the eight Republicans marked as no-votes along with Democratic Sens. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania and Bob Menendez of New Jersey, denouncing, “Democrats end to promote a radical and incompetent judge to a life position on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals with only 47 votes. Because 8 Republican senators did not show up to vote against Nancy Maldonado.
“With less than 6 months left in President Biden's term, Senate Republicans must stand up and present a united front against judicial nominees who pose a threat to the rule of law and our Constitution,” he added .
Democrats just promoted a radical and incompetent judge to a lifetime position on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals by just 47 votes.
How?
Because 8 Republican senators did not show up to vote against Nancy Maldonado.

The list of absent Republicans included:
Senator Ted Cruz of Texas
Sen. John Hoeven of North Dakota
Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma
Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky
Senator James Risch of Idaho
Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah
Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida
Senator Rick Scott of Florida
“Why the hell did so many Senate Republicans miss this critical vote? Manchin and Sinema voted against this Biden nominee. And Menendez is on trial in New York City,” noted Mike Davis, president of the Article Project III. “The nomination of this radical judge Biden would have failed. Now we are stuck with her for the rest of her life.”

The absence of some senators was clearly explained, as Cruz remained in the Lone Star State to help with Hurricane Beryl relief while Rubio and Scott stayed in Florida to campaign in the alongside former President Donald Trump at an event in Doral, Florida on Tuesday. The respective dissenting votes of the other Republican senators were not as evident and left the impression that they were just enjoying an extended Independence Day weekend.
During his confirmation hearing, Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy (R), responsible for challenging the judge over his “assault weapons” position, also denounced his late record when he posted: “Of the 68 district judges confirmed last Congress, Judge Maldonado has the THIRD WORST record in issuing judgments in a timely manner. But Pres. Biden wants to promote her to an appellate court. “

Their outrage was matched by voters who called out the GOP for not taking even the tiniest of positions against the advancement of the Left's agenda.
Congressional Republicans in both chambers are so comfortable losing that they will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory 100 out of 100 times.
