Conservative pundit Steve Bannon eviscerated Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) for bringing the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) up for a vote on Thursday.
“The NDAA just happened, it just happened. This is Mike Johnson, and don't tell me you're a Christian. I don't want to hear that you are a Christian, don't bring your faith, don't give me the Bible, I don't listen to any more Bible verses. When you've allowed transgender, you've allowed all this garbage, all this demonic garbage into the entire defense budget,” Bannon said on his War Room podcast.
“You wonder why, you wonder why you can't get, you wonder why you can't get, that you can't get the kids, you know, red-blooded American boys and girls into the military with what you “I have done in this neo-Marxism and this cultural rot”, he raged.
“Now you have the taxpayers paying for this … almost a trillion dollars and you allowed this to happen. When compromise, compromise, if you don't get a majority, the majority doesn't pass on the floor. The Hastert rule!” Bannon angrily lashed out. “But give that up to get it because you're playing with Mitch McConnell, [Chuck] Schumer, and you're as bad as the bad guys because you should know better. So I don't need to hear any more biblical opinions, okay?
Bannon: The NDAA just happened. This is @SpeakerJohnson. I don't want to hear that you are a Christian. You left all that demonic garbage in the defense budget. Now you have tax payers paying for this… you allowed this to happen. You're as bad as bad guys because you… pic.twitter.com/LTqrS5qgqp

Bannon continued to fire Johnson, criticizing his claims to be a Christian trying to do the right thing.
“Your intentions don't matter. The only thing that matters it is your human agency and what you provide. What you deliver So don't give me the biblical worldview, I saw it in the NDAA, your biblical worldview is manifested there. So don't make another prayer group,” he warned.
“We don't have, I don't, what I need are Christians on the walls ready to stand in the gap in what we call the gap. It's not easy. You will be criticized on MSNBC. Mitch McConnell will say bad things about you. Donors will say this and do it! You either believe it or you don't,” Bannon chided.

He wasn't the only one angry about the bill's passage, either. Conservatives like Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) are fed up with unconstitutional spying on Americans.
Don't use the national defense bill to spy on Americans.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) also previously criticized the NDAA, arguing that it was a “deal made between President Johnson” and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY).
“We were appointed to participate in making sure there was no money for abortion, no money for trans, by members like me who stand up for Americans who are sick and tired of funding the war in Ukraine, we had minus the 300 million from the defense bill.”, she began heatedly.
“Well, let me tell you what the end product is and the deal that was made. That funding is there for abortion travel. The policy is still in place for trans people and the military and everything that goes there. Democrat trans policy, Democrat abortion policy, 300 million for Ukraine is back in the NDAA,” Taylor Greene fumed.
I love our military. That's why I voted for the NDAA passed this summer under President McCarthy that included a 30 percent pay raise for the youngest members of the military.
But the NDAA negotiated by President Johnson, Chuck Schumer, Mitch McConnell and Hakeem Jeffries eliminated that salary…

“This was a total sell-out of conservative principles and a huge victory for Democrats,” Greene wrote in a fiery statement. “Congratulations to my colleagues across the aisle, you should all be excited to vote for this! I'm a HELL NO!”

The disappointment after the vote was palpable, and Johnson, seen with former Speaker Paul Ryan, didn't help.
Man, that was so disappointing so fast. https://t.co/O1cOiVKVIP
