A Disney whistleblower claims the company required employees to keep Virtue diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) diaries that determined whether employees would receive promotions, raises or even keep their jobs. The whistleblower also claimed that the company systematically harassed conservative employees.
The whistleblower provided a series of documents to YouTuber and collector WDW Pro, who said: “We now understand that at Disney since the summer of 2020, many employees of the company must maintain their various virtuous actions within of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Later in the video, WDW Pro shared more information this alleged whistleblower provided him: “If you got married, beginning in the summer of 2020 and moving forward today, if you hold political beliefs in the workplace, or outside of workplace, or Social media and those political or socio-cultural beliefs didn’t align with very left-wing views of what you might expect to be sent to HR to have some serious conversations and discussions.”
“So if you went beyond filling out your Word document where you had the DEI requirements pointed out for your MBO document, let’s say, but you were actually on social media saying that you supported some kind of conservative value that they would take you there. to HR,” he explained. “And in doing so, The Walt Disney Company appears to have eliminated the vast majority of its conservative employees and turned the company into a monolithic state in which everyone is either far left on the spectrum or moderate or moderate conservative. underground”.
WDW Pro added: “The complainant says that if they had known what it would be like to work like Disney, it would have devastated them because they dreamed of working at Disney for so long. Once they got the job and actually worked at Disney, it was a nightmare and that they had never worked in any company like this that did these things to them and tied it to their salary.”
The YouTuber would also say, “There’s an individual below [Latondra] Newton who apparently also instituted a new process by which to hire people. And this recruitment process is part of the DEI initiative. [He] it removed the need for a significant number of applicants to meet any kind of criteria.
“And perhaps an effort was also made to ensure that these candidates had a better chance of being approved in large numbers,” added WDW Pro.
After making these claims based on information provided by the whistleblower, WDW Pro shared a document from Disney Ad Sales that in fact shows that one of the MBOs (Management by Objectives) is “Champion Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” .
The slide notes: “Create an inclusive environment with opportunities for people to develop and thrive. People managers have more impact and responsibility for shaping the DAS culture.”
To achieve this goal, employees must “personally participate in D&I training and other educational initiatives. Actively contribute to an inclusive and positive team environment – support colleagues of all backgrounds. Provide and support opportunities for underrepresented talent to grow their careers within TWDC through opportunities such as mentorships, special projects and stretches, career talks and cross-training (people managers). Create an inclusive team environment through actions such as prioritizing, promoting and sponsoring support for D&I focused initiatives, organizing team discussions on inclusion and allowing all voices to be heard within a team/department (People Management ). Provide opportunities for underrepresented talent to join our organization by ensuring that for open positions on the Manager team, there is a diverse and balanced pipeline of interview candidates (People Managers).
For those unfamiliar with MBOs, Investopedia defines it as “a strategic management model that aims to improve the performance of an organization through the clear definition of objectives that are agreed upon by both management and employees. According to the theory, having a voice in setting goals and action plans fosters participation and commitment among employees, as well as aligning goals across the organization.”
The outlet further notes: “Management by objectives (also known as management by planning) is the establishment of a management information system (MIS) to compare actual performance and achievements against defined objectives “.
Given that definition and the fact that Champion Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is one of the MBOs described in Disney’s ad sales document, it’s likely that they had to track this goal somehow.
Based on information provided to WDW Pro by the whistleblower, this appears to have been done through what he calls the DEI logs.
As Valliant Renegade pointed out in his own video discussing this whistleblower’s information, much of this is not new, but it has been very public. Jon Lafayette on Next TV reported in March 2022 that The Walt Disney Company “created a Disney Culture Index to measure the results of DEI’s investments so that advertisers can understand the value of their investments in this space.”
Not only did they create this index, but the company’s president of Disney Advertising Sales, Rita Ferro, detailed that she expects to triple the company’s $100 million commitments from ad partners to DEI by 2022.
She said: “This year I expect we’ll triple that. We want to make sure that every advertiser that comes to the table buys into us all the investments that we’re making in this space and that we can use our platform to really target and tap into their consumer base.”
In addition to that, Disney Advertising’s senior vice president of client partnerships, John Campbell, noted that the company pledged to promote sodomy through ad campaigns with organizations like equalpride earlier this year.
