The tweet, which gained attention on Friday, included a message of support for Harris' presidential campaign, accompanied by an unexpected mention of “@JoshShapiroP for VP.” Alongside this, a compilation of videos showing the press conferences concluded with the phrase “Josh Shapiro for Vice President”.
As the post went viral, reporter Ernest Owens claimed insider, suggesting the tweet had been mistakenly scheduled for release on Monday. This revelation only added to the already heated debate about its significance.
“This is not an announcement of anything. This is just the mayor showing her support for a longtime friend who we know is one of the people being considered,” said reliable sources cited by the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Shapiro, a leading contender for the vice presidential nomination, has been scrutinized by the Harris campaign. In an unexpected turn of events, he canceled a series of fundraisers planned in the Hamptons over the weekend, leading to further speculation.
However, Shapiro's spokesman, Manuel Bonder, dismissed any connection between the cancellation and the vice presidential selection process. “The governor's trip was planned several weeks ago and included several fundraisers for his own campaign committee. His schedule has changed and he will no longer be traveling to the Hamptons this weekend,” Bonder clarified to DailyMail.com.
All eyes are now on Harris as he prepares to announce his running mate early next week.
