Bryan Griffin announced that he will be stepping down from his role as press secretary for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
The announcement comes amid widespread anticipation that the Republican governor of the Sunshine State could soon launch a bid for the White House in 2024.
Fox News Digital has reported that Griffin is stepping down to serve as press secretary for DeSantis’ political operation.
“All of these things Governor DeSantis has accomplished in Florida can be replicated across the country. However, our nation is currently burdened with historic challenges,” Griffin wrote. “Challenges can be overcome, and America is worth fighting for. I believe Governor DeSantis is the only leader who can see us through to victory at this critical time in American history. That’s why I’m stepping away from ‘this role to follow. other avenues to help deliver the governor’s success to our country. If I can be even a small part of the revival and restoration of our great nation, I am willing to give it my all.’
Griffin described DeSantis as “a true, principled conservative” who “ensures that the people around him understand and personally own the principles and values for which he leads,” which “ensures the success of his goals.”

If DeSantis throws his hat into the ring during the Republican presidential primary, he will face former President Donald Trump and many other figures who have already announced presidential runs.
Trump, who has been taking shots at DeSantis, has referred to him as “DeSanctimonious” and “DeSanctus.” Trump has suggested the governor “needs a personality transplant.”
