DeSantis 'looks' to boot Biden from FL ballot: cites 'invasion' of 8 million illegal immigrants

-

Florida Gov. and Republican presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis admits it's “not the right way to do it,” but says he's looking for ways to keep President Biden off the ballot in his state in response to efforts of states to oust former President Donald Trump.

“Any time you have a partisan secretary of state, they're going to go after the other party's nominee, and that's just going to be a little crazy, and it's not going to end well,” DeSantis reportedly told reporters. Fox News Digital.

“You could make a case; we're actually, I'm actually looking at this in Florida right now,” the governor said. “Could we make a credible case that Biden, because of the invasion of eight million?”

“Again, I don't think that's the right way to do it,” he said.

But, the governor argued, it's better than “fighting with one hand tied behind your back.”

“I think if this is going to happen to them … I don't believe in fighting with one hand tied behind our back,” he said. “Whatever the rules are that apply to us, we're going to fight and play the rules differently.” .

As president, DeSantis promised he would “end this stuff.”

“You know, we have a better way forward,” he said. “We won't have to worry about these problems. And then, when I'm president, I can address all the law and all the weaponry, and we can end these things once and for all.”

Some of DeSantis' detractors cheered him on.

“I don't like DeSantis anymore…but do it!” exclaimed one user on X. “Kick Biden off the ballot for border insurgency!”

Others questioned DeSantis' motives.

“DeSantis is only doing this because he wants it to be okay to keep Trump off the ballot too,” one user wrote.

The idea of disqualifying Biden is not “extreme” according to one user.

“This isn't that farfetched… people still think it's crazy, but there is a path to Biden's Article 4 Section 4 disqualification,” one user wrote. “It would be very long, but not impossible…”

And still others believe that answering an unconstitutional action with an unconstitutional action would be “horrible fashion.”

“I actually agree with Desantis on this,” said one user. “But it would be a horrible move. You can't fight fire with fire this time.”
