Democratic Rep. Troy Carter of Louisiana claimed on Tuesday that President Joe Biden's dismal debate performance was due to former President Donald Trump “distracting” the president.
Biden it froze at least twice, he lost his train of thought and made multiple verbal gaffes during June 27 CNN debate with trump Carter told “CNN Newsroom” host Jim Acosta that Biden's poor performance in the debate was due to Trump “making noises” during the showdown, that he was “overprepared” and was not “100% healthy”.

“The circumstances that led to this, a combination of not being 100% healthy, having the former president whistling and making noises around him, distracting him and maybe even being overprepared. These are all things for which we'll be better prepared for, and I suspect you're not going to see a performance of what you did Thursday or so,” Carter told Acosta of Biden's debate performance, who did not challenge the claim.
Carter and CNN did not immediately respond to questions about Trump's alleged conduct during the Daily Caller News Foundation debate.
“You'll see the Joe Biden you saw the next day and you've seen every day since that debate: an energizer, coherent, well-planned, and understanding of the policies he's worked so hard to make happen. to be able to articulate them from up,” Carter said. “I think that's what you're going to continue to see. If you remember, the next day he had color back in his skin, he was energetic, he was able to talk and he admitted that he had a bad day and a bad performance. Nobody runs away from this”.
