Addressing concerns about his age and eligibility, Biden, 81, revealed that he has had “extensive” conversations with Democratic leaders and is fully aware of the doubts surrounding his ability to defeat Trump. In response to these apprehensions, he stated, “I wouldn't run again if I didn't absolutely believe that I'm the best person to beat Donald Trump in 2024.”

Concluding his message to his fellow Democrats, Biden urged an end to ongoing deliberations about a possible replacement nominee. “The question of how to move forward has been well and truly aired for over a week. And it's time for it to end,” he wrote. “We have a job. And that is to beat Donald Trump. We have 42 days until the Democratic Convention and 119 days until the general election. Any weakening of resolve or lack of clarity about the task ahead only helps Trump and hurts us.”
