Actor Robert De Niro claimed in real-time that his Gotham Awards speech was edited on the teleprompter without his knowledge because he spoofed former President Donald Trump and chose to correct the matter by reading his original comments from the your phone
While it may be hard to believe that De Niro is 80 years old, it’s easy to understand that his Trump Derangement Syndrome is as strong as ever: The actor infamously said of Trump, “I’d like to give him a punch in the face.”
The Daily Mail confronted a “prickly” De Niro about the alleged censorship and subsequent rant outside his New York apartment and he was “tight-lipped”.
“No, no, I don’t want to comment,” he replied as he picked up a copy of Jonathan Karl’s book. Tired of Winning: Donald Trump and the End of the Grand Old Party.
“Wearing a black beanie and a face mask, a visibly upset De Niro repeatedly refused to talk about the incident and used a bag to try to hide his face as he left his Upper East Side home” , the British tabloid reported. “He then ordered a DailyMail.com reporter to ‘open the door’ of his chauffeured black Cadillac Escalade before getting in and punching him.”
DeNiro attended the Gotham Independent Film Awards to pay tribute to his critically acclaimed Western crime epic. Killers Of The Flower Moonand accepting the Gotham Historical Icon and Creator Tribute Award on behalf of the film.
“The beginning of my speech was edited, cut, and I didn’t know it. And I want to read it”, said the octogenarian actor to the audience.
“History is no longer history. The truth is not the truth. Even the facts are being replaced by alternative facts and fueled by conspiracy theories and ugliness,” De Niro said, proving that the left has the art of projection down to a science. “In Florida, in the young students are taught that slaves were taught skills that could be applied to their personal benefit. The entertainment industry is not immune to this infected disease.”

He proceeded to attack John Wayne, whom Elizabeth Taylor once called “quintessentially American.”
“The Duke, John Wayne, famously said of the Native Americans, ‘I don’t think we did wrong in taking this great country from them.’ There were a large number of people who needed new land and the Indians were selfishly trying to keep it for themselves,” De Niro said, before turning his attention to Trump.
“The lie has become one more tool in the charlatan’s arsenal,” he continued. “The former president lied to us more than 30,000 times during his four years in office. And he’s keeping up the pace in his current payback campaign. But in all his lies, he cannot hide his soul. It attacks the weak, destroys nature’s gifts and shows disrespect, for example by using Pocahontas as an insult.”
Concluding his remarks, De Niro took a shot at the Gotham Awards, Apple and the film’s producer for allegedly censoring his comments.
“I don’t feel like thanking them at all for what they have done. How dare they do that, indeed?, he said. “But now I’m going to accept the award.”
