Da Vinci's priceless Mona Lisa painting attacked by soup-toting environmentalists: 'Shut them down!'

-

In the latest example of the nihilism of climate doomsday cultists, activists attempted to deface the Mona Lisa, the priceless painting by artist Leonardo da Vinci on display at the Louvre in Paris.

On Sunday, members of the French eco-committee group Riposte Alimentaire, which roughly translates as “Food Response,” performed in the museum's “Salle des Etats” when they popped cans of bright orange pumpkin soup and went spray the protective glass covering the artwork that da Vinci painted in the early 1500s.

In video footage of the malicious criminal act, two women who were identified while a 24-year-old named Sasha and her older accomplice, Marie-Juliette, 63, climbed over the wooden railing barrier and stood proudly at the vandalism with the younger woman displaying the name of leftist group shirt as the soup dripped from the glass.

“What is the most important thing? Art, or the right to healthy and sustainable food?” The activists he screamedadding: “Our farming system is sick. Our farmers are dying on the job.”

“Two activists from the environmental movement 'Riposte Alimentaire' sprayed pumpkin soup on the armored glass protecting the Mona Lisa, this Sunday, January 28, 2024, at around 10am (4aET),” the museum said in a communicated seconds on CNN.

“In France, one in three people skips meals due to lack of means,” the group said in a statement published in French but translated into English. “At the same time, 20% of the food produced is thrown away. Our model stigmatizes the most precarious and does not respect our fundamental right to food.”

Fortunately, the painting itself was not damaged, but the incident shows the utter contempt the climate change movement has for the Western civilization it is increasingly clear they want to destroy.

The attempted desecration of what could be the world's most recognizable painting sparked a strong backlash from X users.

“These climate t*rr*rists need to be arrested and sentenced to long prison terms. This needs to stop,” wrote the popular Libs TikTok account.

“Protesters who do this and block traffic need to start getting prison sentences so long that no one will ever do it again. It's past time to coddle these people,” said the Outkick founder and host of nationally syndicated radio Clay Travis.

“Oh, yes. Disfiguring the Mona Lisa with soup will make everyone stop burning and developing fossil fuels. Great idea,” wrote former NCAA women's swimming star Riley Gaines. “Shut them up.”

The overwhelming number of user takedowns indicates a growing weariness with the disrespectful and disruptive tactics that have become commonplace in the modern era of the global leftist cultural revolution.

It is inevitable that sooner or later the complete lack of accountability will embolden the climate cult to move beyond simple acts of vandalism into outright terrorism that will cost people their lives.
