People lined the streets as Trump's motorcade drove past, with the former president waving from his closed window, to the delight of supporters. Trump also made sure to check in with the boaters while in Newport Beach.

Trump's Newport Beach appearance is part of a fundraising tour following his recent “felony” conviction. The event took place at the luxurious Harbor Island residence of John and Kimberly Word, co-hosted by tech entrepreneur Palmer Luckey, according to the Register OC. Attendees paid between $3,300 for a lunch ticket and up to $100,000 for premium access, highlighting the strong financial support for Trump's 2024 campaign.
