“Crime is going to go through the roof because there’s a cut in the police security budget and on top of that there’s a cut in the sanitation budget, so that means we’re going to be drowning in rats,” he added, both touching on the cancellation of the next five police academy classes, as well as a $32 million cut to the city’s sanitation department.
“To balance the budget as required by law, each city agency dug into its own budget to find savings, with minimal disruption to services,” Adams said in a statement. “And while we got it this time, make no mistake: Migrant costs are rising, tax revenue growth is slowing and COVID stimulus funding is drying up.”
Meanwhile, Cardi B issued a warning to those not living under Mayor Adams’ leadership.
“Mayor Eric said it, there’s a budget cut in New York, and it’s going to gradually go to every state,” he said. “The mayor says a $120 million budget cut, and trust me, if they’re making a big budget cut in New York City, watch it start going to your state.”
