CNN data reporter Harry Enten said Thursday that Vice President Kamala Harris is still not reaching the polling points that President Joe Biden achieved among key voting blocs in his 2020 campaign.
Harris reportedly make sure the delegate support needed to claim the Democratic nomination on Tuesday, two days after Biden endorsed she following his announcement would not accept the Democratic nomination. Enten said Harris has regained some ground with black and Hispanic voters in polls taken since Biden dropped out, but still lags behind Biden's polling numbers for the 2020 election.
“You look among black voters, he's doing eight points better than Joe Biden in April and June of this, [of] of course, the Harris poll, in July. What about Hispanic voters? He's doing six points better among Hispanic voters,” Enten told “CNN News Central” co-anchor Kate Bolduan. “Now, here's the interesting thing. In fact, it's not doing much better among white voters. He's only one point ahead of Joe Biden among white voters. So, at least at this point, it looks like he's delivering on what a lot of Democrats hoped, that he's bringing together that Democratic base, that diverse Democratic base that Joe Biden seems to be missing, at least this time around. “
