Good evening, fellow conservatives. Today, we’re going to talk about Chris Christie’s recent comments regarding the upcoming 2020 presidential election. In case you missed it, the former Governor of New Jersey has stated that the only way to beat Trump is by taking him head-on.
Now, some of you might be shaking your heads or rolling your eyes, thinking that Christie is just stating the obvious. But hear me out. There are those in our party who believe that the best way to defeat Trump is to distance ourselves from him, to offer up a moderate, “safe” candidate who won’t offend too many people. But Christie is right – there’s only one lane, and it’s the Trump lane.
Love him or hate him, there’s no denying that President Trump has energized the Republican base like no one in recent memory. His campaign rallies are packed with thousands of supporters, and his approval rating among Republicans is consistently high. So if we want to win in 2020, we need to embrace that energy and enthusiasm. We need to run a candidate who can fire up the base and inspire them to turn out on Election Day.
Of course, that doesn’t mean we have to blindly follow Trump’s lead on every issue. We can still have disagreements and debates within the party. But we need to do so in a respectful and constructive manner, without undermining the President’s agenda.
Speaking of the President’s agenda, let’s take a moment to acknowledge some of the accomplishments of the Trump White House administration. Over the past three years, we’ve seen historic tax reform, record-low unemployment rates, the confirmation of conservative Supreme Court justices, and significant progress in the fight against illegal immigration. These are tangible, positive results that have benefited millions of Americans.
So let’s not be afraid to defend the President’s record and message. Let’s rally around him and ensure that he has the support he needs to win in 2020. And let’s take Christie’s advice to heart – the only way to beat Trump is head-on, in the Trump lane. Thank you for watching, and stay tuned for more conservative commentary.
