Emboldened Chinese Communists are taking attacks against the US to a new level by having hackers affiliated with the People's Liberation Army of China breach critical infrastructure.
even worse, the attacks have gone unnoticed for more than a year. Targets included the water company in Hawaii, a port on the US West Coast and an oil and gas pipeline.
In accordance with Fox News“The goal is for China to take advantage of a position over the United States to create chaos, cause panic and disrupt logistics.”
“Hackers linked to China's People's Liberation Army have gained access to more than two dozen critical systems, according to a Washington Post report The newly disclosed information provides a more complete understanding of the Volt Typhoon cyber campaign, which was initially identified by the US government about a year ago,” the news outlet noted.

The hackers' alleged goal was to steal employee credentials so they could return as normal users, rather than using a backdoor to gain access.
“You're trying to build tunnels into your enemies' infrastructure that you can then use to attack. Until then you're lurking, doing reconnaissance, figuring out if you can get into industrial control systems or more critical upstream companies or targets. And one day , if you get the order from above, you go from reconnaissance to attack,” Joe McReynolds, China Security Studies Fellow at the Jamestown Foundation, noted. NDTV.
Breach of US infrastructure brings to mind the ransomware attack on Colonial Pipeline that caused fuel prices to jump and general chaos to ensue. The Chinese breaking into our infrastructure could lead to even more disastrous scenarios, especially if we end up in a military conflict over Taiwan.
“The director of DHS's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) said this is a significant change from Chinese cyber activity seven to 10 years ago, which focused primarily on the 'political and economic espionage,' Fox News reported.
“The goal of any threat campaign like this is to establish a pre-positioned advantage capable of unleashing a cascading cyber attack that compromises US infrastructure. An attack on many of these systems could disrupt or destroy control and wreak havoc on the US United,” he continued.

China's irregular war will allegedly try to block the United States from influencing Asian conflicts, such as a possible Chinese invasion of Taiwan. They could also sow chaos among American communities during periods of emergency, according to Brandon Wales, who is the executive director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
“It is very clear that the Chinese attempts to compromise Critical infrastructure is in part to be pre-positioned to be able to disrupt or destroy that critical infrastructure in the event of a conflict,” Wales said, according to the Washington Post.
In the United States, public services are usually run by private industry. Most of them operate separately, but many of them are not hardened against the attacks of our enemies like the Chinese Communists.
“An attempt to break into a privately operated power grid in Texas is now known. According to the report, several power companies outside the US have been compromised,” Fox News explained.
The water company in Hawaii was probably attacked because of Taiwan and the beer conflict there. Oahu is home to the Pacific Fleet.
Therefore, the Chinese military has launched a cyber attack on American infrastructure. This is what happens when you make your country secondary to other nations.

Hackers are allegedly using readily available malware and a security flaw through human deception to gain access to systems. They combine with common network traffic to avoid detection in a technique security experts call “living off the land.”
“China's Volt Typhoon cyber campaign poses a serious threat to the national security and economic stability of the United States. By targeting critical infrastructure systems, including water, energy, and oil, China aims to gain a strategic advantage over the US and potentially disrupt its military response in the event of a conflict over Taiwan,” Fox News said.
Warning bells are ringing everywhere as the Chinese continue to prepare for an invasion of Taiwan.
“The hacker focus on Hawaii suggests that China wants to make it more difficult for the United States to send troops and equipment to Taiwan in the event of a conflict,” said Joe McReynolds, a China security studies fellow at the Jamestown Foundation.” ABC15 News reported
Checking the vulnerability of our network. Do you understand how bad it would be if they destroyed the power grid? No gas pumps. There are no ATMs that work for cash. Cell towers have battery backup, but then they die. It's winter, do you have a gas or electric stove/heater. Plan ahead.

“Chinese military officials have argued allowing disruptions to their infrastructure to coincide with airstrikes. They have discussed timing missile launches with disruption of command and satellite networks, along with military logistics systems, according to the Washington Post,” he continued.
In August, Chinese hackers tried to breach the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, which operates the state's power grid, according to security firm Recorded Future. In 2012, they collected data on industrial control systems from Telvent, whose software is used in US pipelines, according to the Washington Post.
