Chicago shooting victim's mother urges Democrats to 'protect community' as DNC begins

The mother of a Chicago shooting victim called out Democrats for allowing crime to plague the city “for decades” during a Monday appearance on “Fox and Friends,” saying her community is “losing” the his “future”.

I'll never know what it feels like to have a grandchild from him. Like, we're losing our future. I don't know what else to tell them. Like, what's it going to take to step in and do what do you suppose you have to do to protect the community? You're not doing it. Because if you were, we'd have answers about everything.”

Chicago police have reported a total of 356 homicides in 2024 as of Monday, seconds to the data communicated by the City Council.
