CENTCOM issues critical update on 'status' of two missing Navy SEALS

-

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Sunday that its search and rescue mission for two missing Navy SEALS has come to a sad end.

“We regret to announce that after an exhaustive 10-day search, our two missing US Navy SEALs have not been located and their status has been changed to death,” CENTCOM said in a Press release. “On January 11, the search and rescue operation for the two Navy SEALs reported missing while boarding an illicit dhow carrying advanced Iranian conventional weapons concluded and we are now conducting recovery operations” .

“During this expansive search operation, airborne and naval platforms from the US, Japan and Spain continuously searched over 21,000 square miles to locate our missing teammates,” he continued. “The Fleet Numerical Oceanography and Meteorology Center, the US Coast Guard Atlantic Area Command, the University of San Diego – Scripts Institute of Oceanography, and the Office of Research Naval – Oceanographic Support also provided search assistance.”

“Out of respect for the families, no further information will be released at this time,” CENTCOM added.

How BizPac Review reported, the SEALS went missing after an overnight mission off the coast of Somalia. The high waves knocked one of the frogmen into the water and, following protocol, another SEAL jumped in after him.

“One fell into the water while trying to board the small boat, known as a dhow. Another SEAL jumped in after him, in accordance with their training and protocols, a US defense official said. A drone that was assigned to the mission captured footage of the SEALs falling into the water, the official said. The Wall Street Journal.

“Houthi rebels in Yemen, backed by Iran, have launched dozens of attacks on ships transiting the Red Sea in what they say is solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, where Israel is fighting a war against Hamas,” the medium reported. “In retaliation, the United States led strikes on Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen last week.”

“We mourn the loss of our two Naval Special Warfare warriors and will forever honor their sacrifice and example,” said USCENTCOM Commanding General Michael Erik Kurilla. “Our prayers are with the families, friends, the US Navy and the entire SEAL special operations community during this time.”

Rep. Mike Waltz (R-Fla.), a former Green Beret, said the news has broken his “heart.”

“My heart is broken,” she told “Fox & Friends” Monday morning, “but we're also going to make sure these Gold Star families are taken care of.”

The lawmaker expressed his “frustration” with the Biden administration for putting the SEALS in this dangerous position “instead of admitting that this administration got it wrong on Iran, reversing course on Iran and drying up cash.”

“You have to dry up the cash in Tehran,” he claimed. “We have to go back to maximum pressure. This administration must reverse course on its Iran policy or we will lose more service members.”
