In a weekend where the PGA Tour's Travelers Championship and a LIV event in Nashville competed for fans' attention, the PGA got a win with Cameron Young's play.
On Saturday, Young became the 12th golfer to shoot a sub-60 round on the PGA TOUR and the first in nearly four years. Young dominated the par-70 course at TPC River Highlands in Round 3 of the 2024 Travelers Championship, posting a remarkable 59. He started Moving Day at the Travelers in T43 and finished the round tied for the lead at -13 with Tom Kim, who had yet to start his third round.

The Wake Forest alum shot a 28 on the front nine and a 31 on the back nine. He went five under through his first four holes, which included an eagle from 142 yards on the second hole. This was the first of Young's two eagles in Round 3. His “59 watch” officially began with his second eagle on the 15th hole.
Young drove the ball 280 yards to the short par-4 green and sank an eagle putt four feet two. Despite this, he left some opportunities on the course. After his eagle on the 15th, Young's 173-yard drive over the water on the 16th hole set up a 7-foot-four birdie putt, which he missed by inches.
The drama intensified as Young still needed a birdie to post a sub-60 round. He quickly secured the necessary birdie on the next hole, a 425-yard par-4. However, a missed fairway on hole no. 18 resulted in his third missed green-in-regular of the round. Young managed to “get up and down” for par, finishing his third round with a 59.
