Florida Rep. Byron Donalds (R) was having none of the corporate media narrative when he confronted ABC News' George Stephanopoulos about the source of an alleged “slur” directed at the vice president.
“George, now that you're done yelling at me, let me answer.”
With less than 100 days until Election Day, the foreign policies of the Biden-Harris administration leading to increased tensions in the Middle East and a congressional recess underway, media allies of the Democratic Party they seemed determined to avoid confronting the record of presumptive vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris. .
Instead, an effort to accuse former President Donald Trump of using an “insult” against Harris saw Stephanopoulos completely ignore concerns about the potential for World War III to reiterate his projection that he was the leader of the GOP who seemed focused on the vice presidential race.

The lawmaker noted that Trump had been responding to a question posed to him during his recent appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists convention before calling it a “fake controversy” and noted that it was the 'Associated Press who had named Harris as the first. Senator of India when she was elected.
Noting that whether the vice president aligned more closely with her black or Indian heritage didn't matter, Donalds explained how her policies were crushing American families with inflation, had exacerbated the crisis on the southern border, and that “she and Joe Biden have unleashed one of the worst foreign policies in our country's history that has us on the verge of World War III. This is Kamala Harris' record.”
Following this, Stephanopoulos chose to continue to focus on Harris' identity, stating: “You just repeated the insult again. If it doesn't matter, why do you keep questioning his identity? He has always been identified as a black woman. She's biracial.”
Acknowledging it was something people were talking about on social media, Donalds reiterated: “That's a side issue, not the main issue. The main issue is…”
Stephanopoulous proceeded to criticize the congressman, accusing him of again questioning Harris' identity, and had the lawmaker walk back the disruption. “George, now that you're done yelling at me, let me answer. [Trump] he talked about it yesterday on stage in atlanta for what, two minutes? She spent more than 35-40 minutes going through her record, talking about what a radical senator she was. She was the most liberal senator in the… United States Senate. This is a fact.”
“She talked about the work she did as vice president of the United States; a job I will add that has been a failure for the American people,” he continued. “I know you like to talk about what she said jokingly or seriously for a minute or so, but what you're not covering is Kamala Harris' litany of failures. That's what you're not covering, George.
As the host discussed social identity, the congressman again recalled that he was the AP behind the headline referenced during a Trump rally: “We can have that conversation for the whole segment, but nothing that matters to the American people. What matters to the American people is, are we going to have the same policies of the Biden-Harris administration that have been destructive to the American people, or are we going to have the policies of the administration of Trump who put America first, with low inflation?prosperous Americans no matter your race, no matter your color, no matter your creed and a foreign policy that kept America safe?
“These are the facts that really matter because this issue will come and go. The lives of the American people are what will remain, and that's what matters more than anything else,” Donalds added.
Sounding like an elementary school kid shouting, “I know you are, but what am I,” Stephanopoulos responded, “If it doesn't matter, I don't understand why you keep repeating it; why the president keeps repeating it why those who introduced the president yesterday they keep repeating it,” before continuing to avoid the concerns of voters by raising January 6.
As a reminder, the ABC News host was currently facing a legal dispute with the former president, as Trump had filed a defamation suit against the talking head after Stephanopoulos had repeatedly argued that the GOP leader had been considered “responsible for violation”.
That reality was among the digs delivered at the anchor as social media users reacted to the exchange.
