Border Patrol under Biden exposed for 'final removal order' sleight of hand

-

Simple math exposed a false claim by the Biden administration about the final removal orders and the Border Patrol's lack of capabilities.

Throughout President Joe Biden's tenure in the White House, the executive branch has repeated variants of the claim that the border isn't open, that it's secure, or that it's Republicans' fault that agencies don't have the resources to address immigration. .

On Friday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) re-shared a short animated video via its X account announcing that the Department of Homeland Security was continuing to “enforce the laws of the United States.”

“If a non-citizen receives a final order of removal through his or her immigration court proceedings, he or she will be detained or held in custody and subject to removal from the US,” a narrator read while depicting aliens boarding a airplane “These are our immigration laws, and it would take an act of Congress to change them.”

However, NewsNation correspondent Ali Bradley was quick to respond to this claim, and within an hour of publication, he offered a brief explanation of how a “final order of removal” may not work as it seems.

Reposting the CBP video, he wrote: “CBP sources tell me that ICE (US Immigration and Customs Enforcement) is currently monitoring the cases of 6.6 million migrants; 1.3 million they have received a final order of removal, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are in custody, otherwise there would be 1.3 million in custody right now, ICE only has the capacity to track 300,000 people under the “Alternative to detention” program.

“And if they're picked up for removal,” Bradley explained, “they can file a motion to reopen that has an automatic stay of removal and bring them back to see a judge.”

His scathing social media blast that CBP is somehow handling the crisis came as House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) had made a trek to the southern border and addressed the failures of the administration.

A recently reported The congressional leader's note said: “Since the beginning of President Biden's term, House Republicans have voted significant funding increases year after year for the Border Patrol and ICE beyond what has been tendered his administration. And since the beginning of President Biden's term, his administration has implemented policies that have undermined security and created a humanitarian crisis on the southern border.”

“Now, in a desperate attempt to shift the blame for a crisis that their policies have induced, they have argued that it is a funding problem. Clearly,” the speaker said, “they have no facts to support their claim.”

In fact, with a record 302,000 encounters at the US-Mexico border in December alone, ICE would not even have the capacity to track these illegal aliens, let alone the millions more who have entered to America from around the world under Biden's watch. .

Bradley wasn't the only one calling out CBP, as others took to X to criticize what they called the “treacherous nonsense” the agency peddled to facilitate all the less significant court dates years into the future.
