Kimberly Cheatle, the former Secret Service director who resigned after the failed assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, will be given a substantial security detail because of ongoing threats against her, reports the Washington Examiner.
Cheatle, who resigned on July 23 after intense scrutiny by the House Oversight Committee, will be monitored by the Secret Service's Official Protection Division.

This division is typically tasked with securing foreign dignitaries during visits to the White House and protecting low-profile cabinet officials.
The decision to extend this protection to Cheatle is in response to threats, including death threats and recent encounters with threatening people, according to reports RealClearPolitics.
Joe Biden, who is familiar with Cheatle from his previous role in his vice presidential security detail, ordered the extra protection. This is reported to be the first instance in which the Secret Service has used its resources to protect a former agency leader.
In addition to Cheatle's security, the Secret Service also began providing protection to third-party candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. shortly after Trump's assassination attempt, following his request for Secret Service coverage for his campaign.
