Few things are generally more damaging in politics than living in an echo chamber.
It's harmful to ignorant constituents, it's harmful to the development of diverse ideas, and it's harmful to the ongoing toxic political landscape.
It's also damaging for 81-year-old sitting presidents facing one battle up for re-election, but the team closest to President Joe Biden doesn't seem to be aware of that, according to a new report.
Simply titled “Top Dems: Biden Has a Losing Strategy,” the blistering report from axes chronicled concerned Democrats who, intentionally or not, painted Biden as old and horribly out of touch, especially on issues involving his main political rival and presumptive GOP presidential nominee, Donald Trump, with his closest allies that they did nothing but allow this senseless behavior.
The key issue, according to Axios: “Senior Democrats, including some of President Biden's aides, have growing doubts about his theory for victory in November, which is based on voters' concerns about the Jan. 6, political violence, democracy and the character of Donald Trump”.
The problem for Team Biden is simple: These voter concerns appear to be greatly exaggerated if they are recent. voting numbers it means anything
Despite this blatant apathy, Biden and his closest allies He actually seems to be honing in on this strategy, especially that last part about “Donald Trump's character.”
Just look at this attack ad shared Monday by Biden's personal account on social media platform X:
Donald Trump is only out for himself. I am fighting for the American people.

“Donald Trump is all for him,” Biden posted with the ad. “I'm fighting for the American people.”
Will Trump win in November?
sure joe Your “fighting” is the problem, but that's a rant for later.
The issue at hand is the holder's foolish understanding of this failed strategy.
“Several polls have indicated that voters are deeply concerned about democracy, but are more concerned about inflation and the economy,” Axios noted.
And that should be painfully obvious to any American who's looked at a grocery receipt lately.
(For the dingbats who are legitimately concerned about “democracy”, please Google the term “checks and balances”).
Axios also pointed to other concerns, such as Trump's rise popularity with minorities, before turning to some really grim dating.
“It's unclear to many of us watching from the outside whether the president and his core team realize how dire the situation is right now, and whether they even have a plan to fix it ” a Democratic strategist told the outlet. “That's scary.”
Another person, described as being in “Biden's orbit,” described something akin to a state of totalitarian fear within the incumbent's camp: “Even for those close to the center, there is reluctance to raise skepticism or doubt on the current path, for fear of being seen as disloyal.”
The Axios report also focused on key Biden aide Mike Donilon.
The longtime aide has reportedly been at the center of much of that failed strategy, and yet the report also paints Donilon as a complete denialist.
“Joe Biden is a great president and great presidents get re-elected,” the report described as a “regular Donilon throwback.”
You'd think that even the most delusional Biden supporters wouldn't stop at calling Biden “great” (only demonstrable it hasn't been), and yet Donilon clearly lives in his own reality.
Look, former President Donald Trump is by no means guaranteed to win anything in November (please vote), but he's walking with momentum too early in June.
But if that trajectory continues, as this Axios report looks like it will, it's bad news for a Democratic Party that can't exactly point to a healthy economy or everyday affordability to shore up Biden's re-election.
(And at this point it almost feels mean to even point the cognitive impairment of Biden, though that doesn't make it a valid concern.)
As Axios points out, “Biden's core inner circle hasn't lost faith” in these losing strategies, which obviously doesn't bode particularly well for the wrecking Democratic Party that may not even be on the same page regarding Israel and Gaza.
Oh, this writer would be remiss not to point out that there is actually a bit of good news in the midst of all this hardship.
It's only for Republicans and Donald Trump.
