Turns out the statue of William Penn, who founded the state of Pennsylvania, isn't going anywhere, at least for now.
To further the ongoing cultural cleansing of the nation's identity, the Biden administration had its sights set on canceling the historical figure as part of the “rehabilitation” of Welcome Park to make the site a “more welcoming, accurate and inclusive experience”.
But in a rare case of Democrats standing up to the administration, Gov. Josh Shapiro caved to public outcry over the decision and backed down.
“My team has been in contact with the Biden administration throughout the day to correct this decision. I am pleased that Welcome Park will remain the rightful home of this statue of William Penn, right here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that Penn founded.” , the Democratic governor tweeted.

Shapiro was linked to an announcement by the National Park Service, which reports to Interior Secretary Deb Haaland.
“Independence National Historical Park has withdrawn its review of a draft proposal to rehabilitate Benvinguda Park and has closed the public comment period,” the statement said. “The draft proposal, which was released prematurely and had not been subject to a full internal agency review, is being retracted. There are no changes to the William Penn statue.”
In case you don't remember Secretary Haaland, here she is celebrating LGBT History Month with a biological man posing as a woman, in her own words helping to “tell the full and honest story of our country.”

The backtracking on Penn's statue caught the attention of billionaire Elon Musk, as well as others. Here's a sampling of responses to the story as seen on Muck's X social media platform:
Yay!

Great job, thanks! Yes, it's a problem for Pennsylvania, but that means it's a problem for all Americans ❤️

“To correct this decision” @GovernorShapirothe only reason this decision was stopped is because the public had found out about it and were legitimately outraged.
If the public had not spoken out, the statue of William Penn would have been canceled just like Jefferson and Washington.

Your surrender is accepted.
Don't try anything like this ever again.— HoR_Emperor (@HorEmperor) January 8, 2024
The public reaction to the leaked plans is a terrible thing.

Now ask yourself why this decision was made to begin with and what led to it. Toxic ideology within your party.

The fact that you even have to do this is representative of the insanity emanating from the Biden administration.
