Former President Donald Trump's assassination attempt represented a unifying moment for the GOP, as a former top cop defended Trump over the left's “grossly irresponsible” claims.
The recognition of the damage done to the country by incumbent President Joe Biden and his allies aligned with Marxist ideologues had proved more than enough for Republicans who had distanced themselves from Trump to consider the right course with the upcoming election.
Having already endorsed The presumptive candidate for a return to the White House, former Attorney General Bill Barr once again solidified his support for the 45th president in a blow against Democrats of all stripes.
On Saturday afternoon, in the hours after the tragedy in Butler, Pennsylvania, that claimed the life of a rally attendee, Fox News digital correspondent Brooke Singman quoted Barr as saying, “Democrats must 'stop your very irresponsible talk about Trump as an existential threat to democracy.'”
NEW: I spoke with former Attorney General Bill Barr, who says, “Democrats need to stop their wildly irresponsible talk about Trump as an existential threat to democracy. He's not.”

To his point, former US Deputy National Security Adviser KT McFarland, who served in the early months of the Trump administration, had commented on X less than an hour earlier: “People in the establishment of the NY/DC think tank has been talking openly about Trump as an “existential threat to America” that must be “stopped at all costs.” No, but they pulled the trigger “.
People in the NY/DC establishment, the think tank world, have been talking openly for months that Trump is “an existential threat to America” that must be “stopped at all costs.” Did they pull the trigger? No, but the dogs whistled.

As reported on Saturday, the Republican leader's own niece, Mary Trump, had done so he hit his uncle as a “despicable, pathetic, vile, traitorous idiot,” in a prime example of Trump Derangement Syndrome as he bemoaned ongoing conversations about President Joe Biden's mental acuity.
Meanwhile, even the host of “The Breakfast Club,” Charlamagne Tha God, had issued a challenge to the rhetoric that simultaneously highlighted how dangerous it was when he discussed the Supreme Court's ruling on presidential immunity.
The commentator argued from the point of view of the dissent, “Biden is in office, so all these royal powers that you're talking about that the president has, Biden has them now. And he could use some of those royal powers to protect democracy, but he won't.”
“Then democracy is not at stake. If democracy really is at stake and Trump is the existential threat they say he is, you should do everything in your power to protect it,” he added.
The alleged stakes were made clear in a post by Manhattan Institute senior fellow Christopher Rufo, who shared footage from The New Republic and The Washington Post comparing Trump to Adolf Hitler, something even from CNN. Jake Tapper had done
“The people who have been pushing this need to be held accountable,” Rufo said. “Fired. black ball ostracized Stripped of their titles. Pushed into bankruptcy. They should never work in this business again.”

Similarly, as Biden refused to even describe the assassination attempt for what it was, while criticizing the political violence that some argued he had helped fuel, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott ( right) joined the chorus blaming extremist Never Trumpers, “Let's be clear: this was an assassination attempt aided and abetted by the radical left and the corporate media that incessantly called Trump a menace for democracy, fascists or worse.”

Today is not just an isolated incident.
The central premise of the Biden campaign is that President Donald Trump is an authoritarian fascist who must be stopped at all costs.
This rhetoric led directly to the assassination attempt on President Trump.
