Bannon calls out the former colleague turned left-wing journalist as booed by the crowd

-

Former Trump White House adviser Steve Bannon joked that politics is becoming more of professional wrestling after he scared a writer who was booed by the crowd.

Bannon was broadcasting from outside the convention hall at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest in Phoenix, Arizona over the weekend when he noticed The Bulwark's Tim Miller in the crowd.

“Wait. Wait. Tim, Tim spends a lot of time on Joy-Ann Reid and Chris Hayes, but he's really a regular on our favorite show on MSNBC: Morning Mika. Can we give it up for Morning Mika?” Bannon said, taking a jab at MSNBC's “Morning Joe.”

“You may not know this about Tim. But Tim, when I was running Breitbart, Tim and I worked together a lot,” Bannon, the former executive chairman of Breitbart News, told the assembled crowd.

“You know why? Tim, before he went to the dark side, he was almost on the dark side. He was the director of communications for the RNC,” he continued as his co-host quipped, “Controlled opposition.”

“Leave it to Tim Miller,” Bannon exclaimed as the anti-Trump writer stepped up to the microphone.

“Oh, and resign the rightful president Joe Biden. The rightful president of the United States,” Miller said as the crowd instantly erupted in boos.

The MSNBC political analyst, who once served as communications director for Jeb Bush's 2016 campaign, quickly returned the microphone after trying to get a “USA” chant to go away as he left with Bannon still laughing.

“You see what I love about this? It's looking more and more like WWE every year,” Bannon laughed. “Let's leave it to Tim Miller.”

Miller later shared a partial clip of the moment on social media.

“My attempt to acknowledge our rightful President Joe Biden and start a USA chant didn't go well,” he wrote to X.

“You seem to like Bannon. You should find this disturbing,” Sarah Longwell, the editor of The Bulwark, commented on Miller's post.

“It's a little bit, but I think this is mostly an issue for Bannon and his psychiatrist,” Miller replied.

Last November, Miller and Bannon drew attention to claims that the 2020 presidential election was rigged, with the discussion centering on former Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake.

“Wait until the House of Representatives next year, when we have a real J6 committee,” Bannon said.

“Oh come on,” Miller replied. “You really don't believe this shit.”

“One hundred percent,” Bannon said, as the two sparred over former President Donald Trump's alleged role in the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol.
