Democratic strategist David Axelrod is not leaving out President Biden, warning him not to repeat former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s mistake in 2016.
Axelrod compared Biden’s hopes of winning the 2024 presidential election as “no better” than 50-50 at best and possibly worse.
He made the blunt comment during an interview with News from New York columnist Maureen Dowd on Saturday. He compared Biden’s belief that former President Trump would screw up and lose in 2024 to Clinton’s similar view in 2016, where she suffered a shock loss. Not taking Trump as a serious threat could doom Biden’s re-election campaign, and Axelrod pulls no punches.
“I think he has a 50-50 shot here, but no better than that, maybe a little worse,” Axelrod commented during the interview. “He thinks he can cheat nature here, and it’s very risky. They have a real problem if they’re counting on Trump to beat them. I remember Hillary doing that too.”
50-50? That’s pretty optimistic

The former councillor a Former President Barack Obama has made a series of unfavorable remarks about Biden in recent weeks. He jabbed Biden above his age, noting that the president “has to decide” whether becoming the Democratic nominee “is wise.” He then yelled at the president telling him to “get out or get out” of his presidential campaign because he was running too slow.
In response to those criticisms, Biden is said to have called Axelrod a “pr*ck,” according to the report Politician.
“I don’t care about them thinking I’m a pr*ck— — that’s fine,” Axelrod told Dowd during the interview. “I hope they don’t think the polls are wrong because they’re not.”
On CNN International, Kasie Hunt told David Axelrod, “Because we live in London,” I can’t say on the air that Politico reported that Biden called you an idiot. “Starts with a P and ends with a K.” Axelrod expressed concern that Biden’s age is an issue. pic.twitter.com/btImv4t9yq

Many on both sides of the political aisle are deeply concerned about Biden’s advanced age and mental acuity.
“This comes as Biden, the longest-serving president in U.S. history, turns 81 on Monday. Several Republicans and even some Democratic allies have expressed everything from criticism to concerns about Biden’s ability to serve in the White House, especially since he would be 86 at the end of his second term.A recent Wall Street Journal poll found that two-thirds of Democrats believe Biden is too old to be president, the latest numbers after a series of ‘incidents, which include trips and falls, malapropisms and losing one’s train of thought. Washington Examiner reported
Biden is also being challenged by third-party candidates for the presidency just like Hillary Clinton. She warned Biden that he must take the third-party threat seriously and counter it.
“Many of Clinton’s allies have blamed third-party campaigns, including Jill Stein, the 2016 Green Party nominee and recent 2024 presidential contender, for Trump’s 2016 victory. Trump was initially considered a long-shot term, but caucus wins in both Iowa and Nevada positioned him as the Republican nominee in 2016,” the Washington Examiner noted.
“A recent New York Times/Siena College poll found that, too Trump leads Biden in five battleground statesas well as making inroads among black and young voters, two voting blocs that were crucial to Biden’s victory in 2020,” the news outlet added.

Democrats have criticized the third-party group No Labels and others for pushing a unity presidential ticket. They believe it will further hurt Biden’s chances of re-election and instead help Trump.
“No Labels co-chairman Ben Chavis said the centrist political organization would withdraw from the contest if polls show Biden has a significant lead over Trump or if Trump is not selected as the GOP presidential nominee in 2024,” the Washington Examiner reported.
Bloomberg News/Morning Inquiry poll last week showed Trump leading Biden in six swing states, with or without third-party detractors.
