At least 1 dead, 5 injured in shooting in downtown St. Louis [VIDEO]

St. LOUIS — Early Sunday morning, a violent incident in downtown St. Louis left at least six people shot, one of them fatally, according to police reports.

The Metropolitan Police Department of St. Louis announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) that “officers are on the scene of a shooting near 10th and Market streets.” This location is just two blocks northwest of Busch Stadium.

Authorities confirmed that one person died at the scene and at least five others were injured. The severity of his injuries is currently unknown.

Homicide detectives were quickly dispatched to investigate the incident, which broke out around 2:30 a.m. This fatal shooting marks the 81st homicide in St. Louis in 2024, according to data from 5 Next to you.

As of this writing, no details have been released about what sparked the shooting or if any suspects are in custody.
