US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is facing backlash for her indifference to how the illegal alien migrant crisis is affecting New York City.
As previously reported, New York City officials kicked public high school students out of school earlier this week to make room to house illegal aliens.
BREAKING: The buses are now stopping at @JMHSBklyn and leaving illegal. School is closed tomorrow because the illegals will be sleeping in the school gym. This is embarrassing! New York is prioritizing illegals over Americans. pic.twitter.com/2jmKXfRTHX https://t.co/ViZiWlqTX5

Asked about it Friday, Ocasio-Cortez said it wasn't relevant because it didn't affect her district yet.
“Do you agree with a school being used as a shelter?” Fox Business reporter Hillary Vaughn asked him.
“It's not in my district,” the congresswoman initially responded.
Later, he at least had the decency to admit that cramming illegals into public schools is not a “long-term solution.”
“I think it's very clear here that the most important thing is that we identify an appropriate facility for these people,” he said. “I don't foresee this being a long-term solution. It shouldn't be a long-term solution.”

But many believe the correct answer was that funneling illegals into schools shouldn't be a solution, period. The solution, in fact, is for Democrats like Ocasio-Cortez, among others, to stop encouraging and enabling illegal immigration.
Fox Business Network host Lisa Kennedy Montgomery, meanwhile, responded to the congresswoman's comments by blaming the crisis on the exact type of policies that congressional Democrats like Ocasio-Cortez regularly push.
“It's their policies, and that's the problem,” he said. “People like AOC don't buy into their philosophy, which is bankrupting cities across the country. And people in New York, people in Chicago never really had to think about the immigration crisis, because to them it was theoretical. Well, now it's real.”
Meanwhile, social media users responded to his rhetoric by pointing out that he clearly has no problem sticking his nose where it doesn't belong, meaning his “it's not my district” remark is irrelevant.
She was also accused of being an apathetic and shameless “NIMBY”.

He travels to Texas to do political stunts, but when asked about New York he says “it's not my district” lol

She runs the whole country on a daily basis. Yes, when asked about a specific situation, he runs away to his pathetic neighborhood

It's not in your neighborhood, but it's in your city. Ocasio-Cortez basically seems to believe that we should allow all illegal immigrants (or “asylum seekers”) into the country without any checks, and that we should let them use taxpayer funds.

“@AOC it is not in my district”. Or to put it another way: NIMBY, so I'm good.
The real answer is not to move people from all over the world who leave their homes to be trafficked by the cartels across our open borders. Open borders created by @jobiden through its policies.

Note what one critic wrote: “Ocasio-Cortez basically seems to believe that we should allow all illegal immigrants (or 'asylum seekers') into the country without any screening, and that we should let them use taxpayer funds.”
This is true. In fact, remember that three years ago he blasted Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris for committing the apparent crime of urging illegal aliens to “not come” to the United States:
This is disappointing to see.
First, seeking asylum at any US border is a 100% legal method of arrival.
Second, the US spent decades contributing to regime change and destabilization in Latin America. We can't help but burn down someone's house and then blame them for running away. https://t.co/vADyh5H0bw

Also, earlier this week, he claimed that the solution to the migrant crisis is simply to hand over legal status to the millions illegally crossing the US southern border.
“From all parts of the political spectrum, one of the biggest problems we have when it comes to immigration is that we have an undocumented population,” he said.
“Now you can fix it by trying to build a wall, or you can fix it by trying to document people,” he added.
In other words, give “undocumented” migrants official legal documentation.

The best way to end illegal immigration is to legalize it. AOC is great. pic.twitter.com/aB5i9oUxzo
