While progressive idiots Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and members of “The Squad” have talked about cutting police budgets, they don’t seem to skimp on their own protection. Recent financial reports suggest that these leaders have spent $1.2 million on private security services.
AOC and its colleagues have long championed the “Defund the Police” movement, calling for major cuts in police department budgets. They argue that the idea is to redirect funds to community programs to address the root causes of crime. However, some observers are now questioning the apparent double standard in his personal choices.

Most Americans cannot afford private security and rely on their local police department as a source of protection and safety. No matter how good the local police department is, the right to keep and bear arms is still one of the best forms of security there is. Always remember that when seconds matter, the police are minutes away.
This expenditure has reactivated debates on the practicality and authenticity of the “Defund the Police” initiative. Critics argue that this strategy can only work for those who can afford to hire private security, leaving vulnerable communities at risk.
I have yet to see members of “The Squad,” including reps Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, and Rashida Tlaib these reports. While campaigning for a reduction in community protections, significant spending on security continues to raise eyebrows, sparking conversations about political accountability and transparency.
