The individual from the public who lost his life during the assassination attempt on Donald Trump at his rally in Pennsylvania has been identified as retired Buffalo Township Fire Chief Corey Comperatore.
Corey Comperatore was shot and killed by 20-year-old gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks. Comparator He was sitting behind Trump when the shooting occurred. The shooter, located on a roof 130 meters away, opened fire with a rifle.
Relatives have expressed their grief and paid tribute to Comperatore. His sister wrote on Facebook: “The AP Trump Rally took the life of my brother, Corey Comperatore. Hate knows no bounds . Pray for my sister-in-law, my nieces, my mother, my sister, myself and her nieces and nephews, as this seems like a terrible nightmare, but we know it is our painful reality.”

The Daily Mail reported that her daughter, Allyson Comperatore, posted this on Facebook:
“Yesterday time stopped. And when it started again, my family and I started living a real life nightmare. What was supposed to be an exciting day that we had all been looking forward to (ESPECIALLY my dad), turned into the most traumatic experiences anyone could imagine.
I know the media will cover this event. And I'll do my best to stay away from watching it all, especially since I've already seen it and lived it in real time. But I want everyone to know what the media won't cover, and won't say about him.
He was the best father a girl could ever ask for. My sister and I never needed anything. You call, he would answer you and do what you need, and if he didn't know how would he know. He could talk and make friends with anyone, which he was doing all day yesterday and loved every minute of it. He was a man of God, loved Jesus fiercely and also cared for our church and our members as a family.
The media doesn't tell you that he died as a real-life superhero. They won't tell you how quickly my mother and I were knocked down. They will not tell you that he protected my body from the bullet that attacked us.
He loved his family. He loved us enough to give us a real bullet. And I want nothing more than to cry for him and say thank you. I want nothing more than to wake up and for this not to be a reality for me and my family.
We lost a husband, a father, a brother, an uncle, a son and a selfless, loving friend. And I will never stop thinking about him and mourning him until the day I die too. July 13th will forever be a day that changed my life. I will never be the same person I was less than 24 hours ago.
There are many children who say their father is their hero, but my father is really mine. I don't think I'd be here today without him.
Father, I love you so much that there are not enough words to express how deep this love is. I know you will give hell to heaven. I know God is proud of the man who came to his door yesterday”
An emergency physician who attended the rally described his efforts to save Comperatore: “I heard the shots. I thought they were firecrackers to begin with. Someone over there was yelling, 'He's been shot, he's been shot “. So I made my way. I said I'm an ER doctor. Let me help you.” The doctor, covered in blood, performed CPR and chest compressions on Comperatore but was unable to save him.

Former President Trump was struck by a bullet that pierced the top of his right ear. Despite the injury, he briefly crouched, then stood up, pumped his fist and chanted “fight, fight, fight” before Secret Service agents rushed him off the stage and into a motorcade.

Trump released a statement on Truth Social thanking the Secret Service and law enforcement for their quick response. He expressed his condolences to Comperatore's family and another injured attendee at the rally. “It is incredible that such an act can take place in our country. At the moment, nothing is known about the shooter, who is now dead. A bullet was fired at me that pierced the top of my right ear. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”
